Was really excited about this place based on high reviews. The atmosphere is nice, very clean. We only went for sushi so I can't speak on their other food. However the sushi was just okay. The specialty rolls are all the same concept, with raw jalapeno and peppers in most of them. It wasn't anything extraordinary and I've definitely had better rolls elsewhere. Also, our server came out exactly 3 times. No refills offered at all, no checking if we wanted more drinks from the bar, one time he kinda hollered from 3 tables over if we were good. I just nodded because I'm not screaming across tables. Who does that?? He acted like he hated his job and should probably go find a different one. We won't be back and based on our experience I wouldn't recommend it to others.
It was ok. It should have been better. The volcano sushi was neat but drowned in sauce. The rainbow and dragon rolls had too much rice. More fish needed. Expected a lot more. Earned 3 stars. Middle of the road sushi.
This place is delicious!! Made a reservation day of for a Saturday night. We got right in we our reservation time. Service was great! We purchased the appetizer sampler plate. It was plenty of food for 4 people to share. We also tried 6 sushi rolls & loved them. The nutty Thai professor was one of our favorites. The stealth was a great veggie option. The fortune cookies are really fun! Make sure you eat them there, some of them have fun games inside to win free saki shots! Fun little bonus. Highly recommend this restaurant!
I didn't really like going to Yokozuna before Covid, I thought it was just mediocre. I have been several times lately for sushi or entrees and I feel like the quality is way better than it was a couple years ago. The classic spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls are some of the best in town as the fish is in chunks rather than being minced or ground like most places. The lunch specials and sushi happy hour are also a very good value relative to the quality and experience. I'm happy to say I now look forward to going to Yoko rather than avoiding it like I used to!
Great sushi Rolls... The fried calamari was also amazing. I went with a large group and the server did an awesome job handling all the separate checks.
This place had the best sushi I've ever tried. I really enjoyed all the combinations that we tried! We all ordered multiple rolls so we could all try a little of each and it was worth it! My favorite by far was the Rising Sun roll, the pineapple rum sauce was AhMazing, it made the entire roll! I wanted to order another roll just for the sauce! Cool little place on the corner, we enjoyed taking a stroll downtown once we were done here!
One of our favorite downtown spots! The Ambiance is great, and I can even take my teenager for some Ramen while her dad and I have plenty of yummy sushi rolls. We have never had bad service and the food is consistently well prepared.
Went here for my husband's bday. We got the flaming lips, the volcano, and an off menu item called the doppler. The flaming lips was great and the volcano was a little too heavy for me (weird to call sushi heavy but it was). The highlight was the doppler (recommended by our waitress). It was the perfect combination of sweet, spicy, crunch and delightful, it even has a strawberry on top. I can't believe it's not on their menu!
Great service and food. Cool atmosphere other than the tables being crammed together.
Dropped in for a late dinner and left with a nice food baby. The sushi was delicious and service was wonderful! The drink selection was extensive.
