One star for the service and other for the bartender. This was probably one of the worst hamburgers that I have ever eaten. The board was decent. My bacon burger came out.a few minutes later and the burger and the French fries were cold. The bun was dry and too big for the burger.$32 and an $8 tip. Sent my board to the back to take to go but the waitress never came back. It was so dark as well but my taste buds could see that the money spent was not worth it. Walked out disappointed in the food and the service. Whew… what an experience. Note: I never send my food back. I figure if I am not getting good service all the way round why risk it? I had three different servers as well.
My friends and I ended up on a spontaneous mini-crawl and came here on recommendation from a nearby bartender. We were not prepared (or really dressed) to walk into somewhere so fancy, but they didn't bat an eye.We had some very spicy mac & cheese, excellent bacon caramel popcorn and a sweet, fluffy strawberry shortcake concoction. The Broken Compass cocktail unfortunately tasted like straight lemon juice to me, but when I couldn't drink it at all, they comped it, which was very classy. Our very friendly and knowledgeable waitress guided me to the Captain's Daiquiri, which was still citrus-forward but infinitely more enjoyable. My friend also had an excellent drink I have forgotten the name of, but it tasted precisely like a grapefruit. All told, we were favorably impressed and I look forward to coming back for a proper meal.
I went in a week ago, and left unsatisfied and $40 out on one meal. The food was bland, chicken almost undercooked. I have had very nasty stomach problems going on day 3. Upon reading other reviews, this is common. Save your money and take your taste buds somewhere better. I will say our server was delightful, as well as his service. This food is tasteless and will give you food poisoning.
This was the worst restaurant I have ever been too. My best friend and I both had ordered entrees and had a couple of drinks. The next day; I am on the toilet for half of my day hunched over crying because the pain was intolerable. I am guessing that it was food poisoning. The food also tasted very weird. Not how it was described on the menu at all. I will never be coming back to this restaurant. That is all.
We started out with the popcorn bacon and would not recommend. sticky and tough bacon, too many hard kernels. Entree of the tavern burger and fish and chips were very good with tasty fries. Nice friendly service for our large party.
I was absolutely thrilled we decided on the Tavern for dinner tonight. We decided to sit outside- the weather was amazing and perfect for patio dining. Our server was absolutely amazing- I don’t remember her name but she was exceptional and so sweet. The drinks were excellent… but the food. Good lord the food was some of the best food I’ve ever had! I got the scallops with a side of grilled artichokes and my husband got the friend chicken. Literally the best scallops I’ve ever had- the mushroom risotto was incredible and the mushrooms on top were so tasty! My hubby loved his meal too! I wanted to try the crème brûlée but I was so stuffed we decided to wait till next time. Thank you to the staff at the tavern for an absolutely wonderful dining experience we will definitely back for another date night- im dying to try the beet pasta . Don’t pass this place up- it’s incredible.
Growing up, I heard the word "tavern" used interchangeably with "bar." Just a simple, smoky place with cold beer, peanuts, and the game on the TV above the bar. This place is NOT that. This Tavern is a casual restaurant with really good gastropub fare at decent prices. The staff was friendly. The music was not too loud (rare these days). Overall a great dining experience.
Our server was fantastic! We had lunch at the Tavern and ordered the Tavern burger (medium & medium well). They came out quickly...too quickly. Our burgers were medium rare and rare. When our server asked how the burgers were I proceeded to tell him that they were more rare than we would have liked. I didn't even finish my sentence, he saw them, and said he would replace them stat. He let us munch our our fries and even brought us a serving of their famous bacon/carmel popcorn. He was very understanding and gracious. Our burgers were perfectly prepared and delicious the 2nd time around. Thank you!I will be frequenting again, soon! Highly recommend the food, the atmosphere and the service!
We had a trip planned to Tulsa, OK to visit our son for his 40th Birthday. It was a total surprise to him as we planned the visit and a Birthday Party with the help of his spouse. We had asked her to check out some local restaurants that had a private room that we could book. She thought the Tavern in downtown Tulsa would fit the bill perfectly. We booked it and asked her to invite about a dozen of his closest friends. The day we arrived in Tulsa we surprised him at the house with a balloon bouquet. It was an awesome surprise. The Birthday Party was scheduled for the next night. During that day, we visited the Tavern to make sure everything was in order for the party, We had requested the room be set up with one long table with 6 Charcuterie Boards offering a variety of meats, cheeses and crackers, All guests were then given their choice of dinner items from the Tavern menu. We also had a slide presentation playing on the big screen tv of our son through the years. The guests all enjoyed the evening and the party was a hit. The staff at the Tavern did a wonderful job looking after all our requests and the food was amazing. We were very impressed with the personalized service we received.
Had great food and service. The only complaints I had was that our waitress was always hard to find. We had to wait a while for things we needed. Or had to ask someone else. We also had to eventually just go to the bar to pay , because we got tired of waiting. My husband had a piece of hair on his plate. Which blew our minds, especially cause of the price. Other than that we loved the food , drinks , and music!
