We checked in on Christmas day and it was beautifully decorated and the staff was fantastic. We had stayed at some really cute Route 66 motels and motor courts along our trip, but this was in a league of its own! The linens were plush and the robes were amazing! The bed was very comfortable and we recommend this hotel to everyone that is heading to Tulsa.
From the get go was the service we had I was sold. Treated us like royalty. Helping with suitcases to getting us our corner room like asked. Definitely a recommendation to others. The room was 1 King bed Suite and Definitely a beautiful room just walking into it. Rooftop bar/hangout area was beautiful and can see lot of city life from top views of the Mayo. Definitely will be visiting again in future when in area.
Attended a wedding here and some of the party checked out rooms for the weekend. It was absolutely beautiful but there were a couple issues with the rooms themselves as they were not updated for things such as USB phone charging. That would have been just fine if not for the outlets not working either which left one of the guests without a phone. The only other issue was there was another wedding happening at the same time and while we could not hear them when we were in our area with the door closed, they apparently could hear us and came to ask us to keep it quiet. This was a bit of an annoyance as they had reserved the large hall with the beautiful stairway, and we were in one of the smaller rooms across the mezzanine. I don't know if this was a soundproofing issue or an other wedding party issue. The great thing about the weekend was the staff was amazing! The ladies who cleaned the wedding venue were on top of it the whole time and even helped to quickly clean it once the wedding was finished so we were able to get everything broken down and cleaned up for removal not even an hour after everyone left. Since I was driving home and so tired from the day, this was so wonderful and those of us in the wedding party are still grateful to those two women. The rooms were also well taken care of and the cleaning staff we met as we were setting up were friendly, efficient, and made the whole experience so much better.
The room was surprisingly big! Like huge! More apartment than hotel room. Our room was very clean, the bed was soft...just a nice comfortable vibe. The shower had multiple shower heads. The location was excellent. Within walking distance to eateries, or quick Uber ride to more restaurants
We hosted our wedding reception here this past June. The event team went above and beyond to make it a wonderful experience for us and our guests. The rooms are gorgeous, and very clean. We highly recommend both the hotel and the event space!
Stayed here during wife's business trip and really enjoyed it! The tub was giant and relaxing! The location was walking distance to delicious food. All staff was friendly and helpful. Very quiet and relaxing stay!
You stay at the Mayo for the history and experience, but can get better service elsewhere. the beds are hard/uncomfortable and make a loud squeak everytime you move an inch, both remotes did not work for both TVs unless you stood right in front of the sensor 2in away, the couch slid across the entire floor leaving it impossible to move around without moving the couch. I was on hold with staff 2x for 10min+ calling about replacement remotes or questions about the Wifi. lastly I ordered valet parking and was told the day of it was covered indoor parking. I told 4 people and they wrote the note about bringing my car down at a certain time and told me everything would be taken care of and the next morning they forgot to bring my car down, and it was covered in rain even though they had indoor parking supposedly.
I would caution women and families before visiting this hotel. Jim the general manager allows his male staff to come in your room without your permission as you are in the room! I would like Tulsa Family to reach out to me immediately. This is not ok. Jim talks about how he's all about showing Jesus' love. There was absolutely no "Jesus' love" shown in the manner of which he approached the situation. He didnt care and blamed me! What?!! I came because there were amazing reviews. What happened? So I ask Mayo Hotel and the Tulsa family, is this how you would like your hotel to be portrayed?
In keeping with our preference for historical hotels, I booked a surprise overnight trip to The Mayo to celebrate the anniversary of our meeting. I took the advice of other reviewers and upgraded to the Mayo Suite on the eighth floor. We’ve NEVER enjoyed any accommodations as much as these. The suite is really a luxury apartment with a complete full-sized kitchen. As others have noted, you’ll need to bring your own kitchenware. I advise bringing the makings for a continental breakfast so you can enjoy your place until checkout at noon. Note that there is a clothes steamer instead of an iron/ironing board. We also shared drinks on the rooftop (the gate was open to the very top so that’s where we wound up ?). Thanks to the employee for the tip about the free overnight covered parking on Fridays and Saturdays at Arvest Bank—we saved the $30 + tip charged for hotel valet parking. This is a WONDERFUL hotel that is conveniently located to everything in downtown Tulsa. I hope we can return again and again!
We stayed here for a friend’s wedding. They had a beautiful set up in the parlor room. The motel itself is very beautiful but a little scary if you’ve seen The Shining! The scenery & ambiance of the hallways is very similar to the movie I mentioned. But with that said & me being a huge fan of The Shining, I loved it! The bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows. The shower heads in the shower along with the water pressure was great! Be sure to take in the view from the rooftop bar! Beautiful Tulsa scene! Lots of places within walking distance!
