I'm not a huge fan of Mexican food, but I heard such good things about Tacos x Mezcal that I had to give it a try anyway. Unfortunately, they were out of paddlefish roe and horchata on the day I went, and the paddlefish roe guac & horchata cocktail were the main draws for me.I tried the pork belly guac and a marinated pork taco instead. The guacamole was amazing; fresh and perfectly textured, with veggies and generous cuts of warm pork belly scattered over the top. They also have great chips & salsa, and I'm not usually fond of salsa.I wasn't wild about the taco. It wasn't bad, no real problems, but the pineapple slice on top was much more flavorful than the pork inside. It was just a bit meh.The restaurant gives off a hangout spot vibe; they have a nice mix of space for large or small groups, they play popular music but not loud enough to impede conversation and the decor is very sunny. I was there by myself but they didn't get weird about that like some restaurants do. The staff was very welcoming and helpful.Be aware that there's pretty much no parking at the building itself and the lots around it all seem to be private, but there's street parking so it's not a big deal.Overall a nice place I plan to go back when they've had a chance to restock.
They are sitting pretty in hallowed Tulsa ground at 18th and Boston. From my view of Tulsa's own "Haight-Ashbury" intersection from a very lovely space, open and airy with beautiful succulent landscaping. By day you have direct paved path access to the riverparks and by night you have a nice night life district. For lunch we had street tacos. The vegetarian was the best. The avocado was fresh. There are 3 salsas served with the house chips. A sweet and tangy dark sauce, a light and citrusy dip, and green chile, a crowd favorite. For drinks we had a ranch water to pair with a refreshing La Gritona Tequila. This Tequila is delicious with your tacos and has a nice subtle agave after flavor. Tacos x Mezcal is a little off the path but get on your bikes, ride the trail, visit them for lunch, get your happy on and trail on! See you on the trails!
The service is always excellent here, not to mention the great drink selection and food. I highly recommend Tacos x Mezcal for a quick dinner or some late drinks. Everyone here is really nice, and the have a great atmosphere.
The tacos are okay, the standouts being the breakfast burrito during brunch. Pictured is the huevos which was good. They have the best in Tulsa selection of tequilas. Great service.
After stalking their Instagram for months I finally went! And it was worth the wait! Sat at the bar, as a single on a Sunday, and jumped into their brunch menu! The tropical ceviche was bright but could have used some more spice, although they did offer to make it spicer for me after checking in on my food! The bacon wrapped shrimp taco was everything! The bartenders (David and Cody) were helpful, kind, and you could tell truly loved serving their customers! Can’t wait to go back!
Nice little location we stumbled upon here. The chips are great and the salsa selection for my taste not that spicy. The tacos are fairly priced for the environment. The best thing to get is tlayuda. The horchata was okay but overall my entire experience here was good. Again, this is more of a you pay for the environment and sometimes that’s all you need overall I’d come again and checkout the cocktails.
Really tasty tacos! Great drinks! Both food and drink have unique flavors and spices that compliment Mexican recipes. Excellent service! Price was steep, and whatever you do, avoid sitting on the wood bench next to the windows. Those wood dowels in the backrest are very uncomfortable.
Visually, this is a very trendy and good looking place to have a meal. Even the way the food is presented is pretty amazing. But the food itself is insanely overpriced and it's not good. It was like $5 for one taco that was like a mini street taco. The salsas were vile, particularly the brown one and the red one. I wouldn't even call it salsa, it's like they pureed tomato and slapped some vinegar in it.The flavors were just not there. And the portions were small. Me and my friend were still hungry when we left the restaurant. It's a hipster taco joint through and through.
Super friendly staff and good service. Great food and drinks. Freshly made and expertly prepared. Loved the presentation and the vibe! Chips and salsa are complimentary, unique and plentiful. Highly recommend everything! especially the tacos al pastor, tacos carne asada and every marg that Steve makes.
Seriously amazing! Atmosphere and food both! Will definitely return.. we go to Mexico a lot! And can definitely say this tacos are delicious and the guacamole was freshly made!! Ty for being in Tulsa!!
