At the beginning of summer, it wasn’t too crowded… we only had a wait of about 15 minutes on a Thursday evening. We happen to have one of the best cooks in the house. Wonderfully cooked meal as well as remarkable showmanship. This is a great place to take your family.I’m not sure why, but we had to share our cook with another family… maybe because of the wait… having alot of patrons… or that might be just the they do it.Be sure to sit close to those you would like to converse with… it can be somewhat awkward to try to carry on a conversation with those somewhat further away.
Very very seldom disappointed at Osaka, usually above a 5 star rating. I began with them at the old 51st location and that was my favorite date destination. This location is more out of the way and the decor a bit sterile BUT the food and service is usually top notch. The "little lady" waitress who came over from the 51st location are still the absolute best. On this particular visit our waiter was a young man and he was absent through most of the meal and very slow to handle the cash out process. But that is a rarity so i didnt reduce my rating. I had Osaka Favorite---Lobster and Filet. The Filet was large and thick and served at a PERFECT medium rare. The tail was very small but cooked well and was very tasty. The food was A++, the chef did all the tricks and the only negative was our absent waiter. Still an overall A grade. I guess they no longer offer ice cream ? as our waiter didn't mention it and nobody else seemed to be eating any. If so, I'll miss that RAINBOW SHERBERT!!! Great visit though!!
Went here for a birthday. I’m not sure if we got lucky, or if they are just great at getting folks seated quickly. Everywhere else we had been was north of an hour wait. We didn’t have to wait much at all.The food was great, and even the picky eaters amongst us had options available. A great experience and worth the price tag for an every so often kinda place.
We went there with a party of 8 including two 9 year old's and had the Hibachi type service. My wife and I had been there a couple of years ago and just ordered from the menu. You can see our previous review if you wish. This experience was much better and the food and the presentation of it was top drawer. Our service was excellent and since everyone ordered something different it was amazing how organized and attentive our server was and the food was delicious!
I have driven by Osaka hundreds of times, and never stopped before. My wife and I were going to another sushi restaurant, that we really like, in the immediate vicinity. When we walked in, the host explained that "THE" Chef had called in sick and that they didn't have a backup. Well, where should we go? Osaka was nearby, so we decided to give it a try. Osaka is a Japanese style steakhouse and a sushi restaurant. The steakhouse was not open yet, so we did the sushi. Our waitress was nice, but very slow...and hard to get her attention. My wife went the total sushi route, and also house salad with the delightful ginger dressing. Me, I decided to do something a little different. I ordered several appetizers. I had the house salad...and the ginger dressing is very good. Next I had a bowl of miso soup...ok, but not special; shrimp tempura, and pork gyoza. Both were ok...bland actually. My wife's description of the various sushi rolls she ordered...again...ok. Based on service and food, we most likely won't be returning. There is a "but," as we heard several diners that were in-line saying how good the steakhouse is, so we might give the steakhouse a try.
Great food, service, and atmosphere! Perfect for date night! No wait for regular tables!
Excellent food but terrible service! It was our first time there and we were celebrating 2 Birthdays. The server, Henry, rushed us to our seats & told us to speak up when we order. He also told us to hurry because we only have an hour. So we quickly ordered our drinks and then had to wait a long time to get them. Mind you, this was on a Monday night. He was very pushy and made us feel like we were inconveniencing him. The food came out and was wonderful. They gave us our bill and we realized they forgot our dessert. When asked for it he came out with the desserts and gave it all to one person so that she, birthday girl, would spread it out on the table to the others. We reminded them about the birthdays and I guess they don't do anything for birthdays. This was our first and our last time there. No one smiled, except for the chef. We felt they were more interested in turning the tables. We were happy to leave and we'll never come back. We were searching for a good Tepan grill but will have to keep looking. Horrible service!
The food was absolutely amazing, atmosphere was great. Definitely worth trying out if you haven't yet.
Not too bad and very reasonable prices especially on sides and Sushi. The atmosphere is what you'd expect in a hibachi setting. Our server looked dead inside, but still said all the little phrases and did the tricks. Personally I found it much more enjoyable than service with a smile (in this setting) because it was hilarious. He was the only one not wearing a mask which I wasn't thrilled about. The hibachi food pretty much ends up tasting the same especially by the last dish. It more or less taste like burn soy sauce but not necessarily in a bad way. I do wish the meat had more flavor though. I would not order the calamari again, but the sauce was good. I got one of the drinks (Madame Butterfly) and it had no alcohol but was a very refreshing smoothie. Tasted like a strawberry Go-Gurt tube.
What an amazing experience! My 1st time here and absolutely loved it! Will definitely be returning!
