I love going here with my son on the weekends. He is obsessed with the Cocina Changa and I love their Rico salad and sunset fajitas. They never disappoint. Their Manager Evanson is the most hands on manager I have ever seen. The team always goes above and beyond to make our visit special. Definitely recommended. Opt for their outdoor seating on the beautiful sunny days and try their dilemma ?
I’ll be honest, the service has always disappointed me at the Mi Cocina in Tulsa. I was familiar with the Dallas location and LOVED it. Let me tell ya Tulsa, Mi Cocina has made some VERY positive changes. The service tonight was top notch. The Tulsa team has made major changes and the experience was far improved. Torrey, our server, was incredibly attentive and super kind. I will be requesting Torrey from now on. If you’ve been down on Mico like me, give it another try! You’ll be pleasantly surprised.
The bar has the same dark beer problem that almost every Mexican restaurant has namely they keep running out of dark beer. Yes, it's true, a lot of people in Tulsa tend to like dark beer. The margaritas amazed me because they were flavorful but didn't give me indigestion. I really liked that. Now for the food, it was very tasty. I don't eat rice anymore but they had a lot of substitute options and I chose stir fried vegetables to go with my salad and tacos. I ate every bite. Normally, I'd make two meals out of it but I just enjoyed this enough to keep eating it. They did a good job. Like most good jobs, it costs a little bit for that. I had an enjoyable time with good friends and the friendly staff though and that made it all worth it.
I rarely leave reviews, and especially not bad ones but I would hate for others to waste their money like we did today. We chose Mi Cocina for a special Mother’s Day lunch because of the great reviews but we were sorely let down. The food was not good whatsoever. The meat was very dry/tough to the point where it was difficult to eat and the white queso was very runny and bland. We were missing several items/sides that never came and the service was slow, which was understandable because of the holiday. Great atmosphere, decent service, not so great food.
Awesome place tonight they where understaffed and still knocked it out of the ballpark on service, drinks, and food. Will go back again for some more tasty ? food. Everything was wonderful. I would recommend to any friend from out of town. I wish I would have tokens some pictures but I ate it way to fast for the camera to have some. ????
The place looks and feels very nice inside. It has a chic and modern atmosphere. The food is about average, and pre-prepared. We ordered our food and it came out in about 5 minutes. I wasn't a big fan of their white queso. It was a bit thick and coagulated. The enchiladas were not the most flavorful.
We visited for Dinner and there was a table near us that was loud, obnoxious, and dropping the F-Bomb and other unpleasantries constantly. The staff did NOTHING. Ultimately, I spoke to the Manager and he apologized, but left me with the impression that this type of crowd is what they are setup for and their staff is pays no attention to anything like this. So just a warning to think twice before taking family, kids, or anyone that doesn’t like pretending they are somewhere that poor behavior is condoned!
Love the nachos and poblano cream sauce. Skinny margaritas are amazing! Kevin was our server and did outstanding! Very attentive and friendly! Gave us great service at a table while at other tables and running a full bar! Love that you can get the margaritas to-go !!
Kevin M was the BEST server I’ve ever had. The place was so packed, as expected on a Friday night, but he took such good care of us. It was my first time at Mi Cocina and he definitely made my first time the best. I will defiantly Recommend this place and I will most certainly recommend Kevin!!!
Kevin is my absolute favorite! The skinny mambos (which I didn’t know existed until he told me about them) are delicious minus the calories, lol. He always knows our order and suggests new ideas without prejudice. Come see him if you want warm company AND great food!
