The donuts were fine but the place was filthy. The tables were horribly sticky. No soap in the bathroom so we couldn't even wash off the yuckiness. Will not return.
Maybe it was the time of day we went. We got a variety of donuts, and the first one I tried was a little dry like it had been out there for a while. It tasted delicious but you'll definitely want a glass of cold milk. Hopefully, the jelly and fruit-filled will be better. EDIT: They absolutely were better! As stated, we'd gotten a variety and the rest were moist and delicious.Being in downtown Tulsa, you'll navigate your way around the one-way streets, and then pay $6.00 for parking. Of course, panhandlers are part of the experience. To end on a good note, they have a good variety and it varies day by day.
NEVER NEVER AGAIN. I have had Hurts donuts before and don't see the appeal but leaving downtown Tulsa that's what husband wanted so I relented. Walked in around 840am; there was no coffee (I will specify I only drink plain black coffee so the organic is what comes closest here). The girl said it will take 5 minutes for me to make it. I said no, I just wanted some plain black coffee as we had to get on the road. I got a cinnamon donut, husband got chocolate long john and a lemon donut. The girl said I can get you an American for coffee. I said thanks that's fine. I had no idea it would take another 4 minutes and was nothing but what I liken to a steamed espresso I told her I only wanted plain black coffee. For the amount of money we paid it was WASTED. The donut was dry except for teeth hurting sugar on top, husband said his was not flavorful. I will never be back to a Hurts again - ESPECIALLY downtown Tulsa. People who think these are great donuts need to try something else.
Over the top toppings and very bad donut base. Totally not worth the price, effort or time. The toppings make it overly sweet and the donut itself is just blah. I am not quite sure why everyone loves this place - maybe the OKC one is better.
Love the selection and the staff is always so nice! I also loved the eight track themed donut box they have!
great place great peeps
(After watching a video about Hurt's on Youtube). Today was my son's birthday. I wanted very much to take him to someplace new that he might like. We drove into Tulsa from out of town. We paid $6.00 in parking that's very close to Hurt's. When we walked in, they were not well stocked. The selection when we arrived was nothing like you see here on this video. There was maybe 10% choices left from what this video depicts. We bought six different doughnuts to share with the four of us, a cinnamon roll, a bag of Maple Bacon coffee for my husband and 4 drinks. We spent very close to $50.00. The inside of the display case was dirty. The tables were dirty. The floors in the workroom/kitchen and dining area were dirty. Even the counter where you pay at and get your drinks needed wiped down. The cinnamon roll lacked flavor. It tased like bread, even the middle bit. It was soft, the texture was nice, just really bland like rice baby food. It made me think they put spices on the outside of the bread only, don't mix any into the bread so it comes out meh. They didn't wait for the cinnamon roll to cool so the icing wasn't existent, like, at all. Just this crust on the outside of the roll that's flavorless. If I sold my home made cinnamon next door, I'd put them out of business! I tried the chocolate mint, figured since I love things chocolate and mint, I might like it. Again, I was disappointed in the flavors. They weren't there. The candy on top of the Reeses was good. Tasted like a peanutbutter cup. Was it good combined with the doughnut? I didn't think so. Wasn't overly impressed. I would rate this place a 5 out of 10. It's not bad. It's not knock your socks off either. Would I drive out of town again and pay another $50? No. We have a place closer to home called JB's Doughnuts. I rate them a 10 out of 10 every time. So much better. And no, I don't own or know anyone who runs JB's. We just really like them. So, save your money, don't go to Hurts. Wait for a day when you can travel to Coweta and try JB's Doughnuts instead. Get one of their sausage rolls spicy or plain, you won't regret it. And don't have to pay for parking. Lived in the area 50 years. I've tried over 60 doughnut places around various towns in Oklahoma. From Claremore to Catoosa. JB's is my fave. $20 can feed family of 4.
My donut was too sweet for my taste. The peanut butter cup donut had a weird taste like there was too much baking soda added.Probably best time to go is early in the morning when they're fresh. Towards the evening, the donuts are a bit dry.
Great place. Really unique doughnuts. Very fresh too
I appreciate the 24hr aspect, but that's where it ended on my one and only visit. Sorry to say the donuts at 10pm taste like 24hr old dry hard donuts. I'm sure they'd be fresh if you came earlier. Very cool atmosphere. Hard to find parking.
