We had a party of 6. All dishes were delicious. The menus are confusing, the portions are small and the wait staff was not dressed properly for a fine dining restaurant. A 20% gratuity was included on our tickets, even though we were not fore warned and it was not noted on the menu. It was included with the tax, so you couldn't even determine if the math was correct. I believe it is not a GRATUITY if you are not warned, but robbery! My wife and I will not return, since we expect to leave full for $176!
Delicious French food, super cool speakeasy atmosphere and incredibly friendly staff. This restaurant was a highlight of our trip. The Haricot Vert and steak were delicious!! Great date night spot!
The wait staff were friendly and demonstrated passion for the food. The A/C was not powerful enough on the evening we dined; it was humid and about ten degrees too hot. The temperature was the biggest detractor from the experience. The menu is on the smaller side and French-themed. For some dishes, the price points seemed high, even for an upscale restaurant. Example: bouillabaisse at $55. That being said, they do welcome splitting of entrees with no additional charge, which is appreciated and facilitates trying more dishes. Our first course was the charcuterie. The cheese, spreads and garnishes were pleasing. The meat offering was surprising: four small slices of chorizo and a medium slice of pate. I was expecting at least one additional offering of cured meat. You may wish to inquire about the specific meat and cheese selections before choosing that appetizer. The entree of steak frites was good. The wine and cocktail menu is one-page but diverse. We enjoyed the cocktails, very refreshing and vibrant flavors. I enjoyed the general speakeasy concept; I wasn't as bowled over by the decor as some other reviewers. As a final note, we secured the latest seating on OpenTable (weekend night), and they gave us plenty of time between courses (although we were not lingering, either). But by the time a dessert course was to be offered (we were full and took the check), they had turned the lights off in some of the dining areas, which was a tad inhospitable.
Wow, the most friendly, knowledgeable staff. Beyond amazing food with the most amazing flavor I’ve ever had. I would 10/10 be back.
Alex did a phenomenal job taking care of us! The food was fabulous! The old fashioned were tasty! Always love the speakeasy atmosphere!
Had the escargot, steak frites, and wagyu strip. The escargot was exceptional. The wagyu is an extremely tender steak, you almost don't need a knife to cut; it lacks seasoning, which I personally like, but can see why it might be off putting for some. The steak frites is nothing special but comes in generous portions. Ordered some off menu drinks and the bartender nailed them both. Excellent atmosphere, highly knowledgeable on wine, and all around great service. Plan on $100 minimum for hourdoerves, main course and drinks.
We were in Tulsa visiting a friend, and decided to stop by here after seeing the restaurant had high ratings online. We walked in and were immediately met by an extremely rude, pretentious host who tried to lie to our faces and tell us that they did not have any tables available when over half of the restaurant was empty and there were 6-7 availabilities listed online through their reservation partner OpenTable. We brought this up to the manager on duty, who immediately tried to make excuses that their “reservations change by the minute” and that it’s possible the host didn’t see those tables available when we walked in, and clearly had a demeanor about him that he didn’t want to deal with us at all. When we opened the OpenTable app and showed the listed openings to his face, he told us to select a reservation and he would “try” to find us a table. We were seated less than 5 minutes later, and brought the menus and drinks. The entire time we were there, the wait staff who helped us constantly raved about how their head chef trained in the French Quarter in New Orleans, and that’s why the food was so “great” and “authentic.”The food was not great at all, and not even close to authentic. None of the items on the menu we ordered were remotely French in nature.I’m not sure who is running this place, and if they are even remotely involved in day-to-day operations, but it is clear there’s a disconnect between staff and customers, and honestly shocking how they almost tried to push us away from eating (and spending money) there.Definitely skip this place, and try one of the other restaurants in the downtown Tulsa area instead. You will thank me later.
Great food , service and atmosphere! Highly recommend. I want to compliment Brandon who helped get a First Aid kit asap when I told him I fell in the pavement and was bleeding . So kind ! I’ll never forget his helpfulness.?
The food was great, my husband and I both enjoyed our entrees and cocktails. The service was great. They were there when needed but not bothersome. It was a date night choice for me, I'll probably reserve it for more of a special occasion in the future since it was a little more expensive than I anticipated. But, we'd come back when celebrating or for a special night with friends.
I was so excited to try this speakeasy having experienced a few in NYC. This was a business affair and we had just come from a great dinner. We were surprised that despite plenty of open seats, we couldn’t be seated without a reservation. No problem. We walked back outside at 935pm and made a reservation for 945pm. Walked back inside. We were promptly seated at 945pm and placed an order. 5 minutes later, our server told our party we needed to leave. We were being too loud and appeared to already have been over-served. Never in my life have I been asked to leave an establishment. None of us had more than three drinks in the previous 3 hours. Some of the people in our group are just naturally loud. The way this was handled was an absolute joke. If you are looking to have any fun, whether it’s for business or pleasure, steer clear of this establishment. They are going for a quiet date vibe with an extra dose of pretentiousness. Factor in a mostly snowflake/millennial wait staff and it’s a situation that most +40 year olds aren’t going to feel welcome. Luckily we went to the Chalkboard where we were welcomed with open arms and had a fun end to our evening. Visit NYC for a true speakeasy experience where they aren’t trying to wring the fun out of a Friday night.
