Intimate Italian Restaurant with an outdoor patio. We did sit inside because it was sprinkling. We did not have a reservation, but did not have to wait more than 5 minutes to be seated.I chose from the Prix Fixe Menu: stuffed mushrooms, lasagna, and chocolate cloud. The appetizer was really good, needed a pinch of salt, and was a little less crispy than I would prefer, but the overall flavor was yummy. The lasagna was very good - cheesy, the right amount of sauce, flavorful sausage without being overly spicy. The dessert was the lightest fluffiest mousse I’ve ever had - so good! The waiter was friendly and helpful with beverage selections.
Absolutely a must if you live here or visitingThis is my 2nd time dining and both visits have been amazing. Authentic Italian foodCan’t wait to come back!!!
Some business associates and I had dinner at Biga this week. Throughout the years, I have eaten at Biga's several times, and always found it enjoyable. That was not the case this week. The adult beverages were all quite good, but came from the bar at a very slow pace. I actually had to ask our waiter "where's our drinks" more than once. His answer is that they were busier than expected. Biga's did have a large crowd. Is that an acceptable excuse? Well, that's the answer I received. Anyway, on to the food. One of my associates that sat nearest me, ordered the Biga House Salad, Papradelle with Bolognese, and Veal Scaloppini Marsala. He truly disliked the Veal dish so much, he sent it back to the kitchen...and refused their offer of making it again. I also had the Biga House Salad, the Papradelle with Ragu Bolognese, and the grilled Ribeye Fiortina. The house salad was truly ok. The Papradelle was also a very strong ok. The Ribeye looked good, but in reality was not at all what I was expecting...it was dry and chewy. I didn't send it back, but in reality I should have done so. We as a group had a very good, productive, and festive meeting. When we have our next business dinner, which we definitely will do, it will not be at Biga.
Pleasantly surprised by this little Italian restaurant on Brookside! I took my wife here for her birthday and we had a delicious, intimate meal that rivals any other in town. The Spicy Broccoli was remarkably good - and different. Special Mention to the Chocolate Cloud dessert; we'll be back JUST for that!
Every time we come here it surpasses the previous experience. The food is superb and the staff treat you like family. The atmosphere is welcoming and comforting.
Great place to avoid all the chain restaurants that are just out for your money great food great atmosphere leaving all the waiters and waitresses know who you are when you come through the front door couple times the bartender even knows your favorite drink it almost feels like she ran away but with great food everything from the great calamari to an awesome penne Biga to a more fancy dish of the season
Upon driving up to the building we thought we were going to be underdressed for the type of restaurant it appeared to be. My friend and I wondered if they were doing construction when we walked inside. When we walked inside we realized we were in fact overdressed for the occasion. We were accosted with an overwhelming fish smell but thought maybe someone had just ordered fish. It should of been our first clue when there was no wait time on a Saturday night as the restaurant was virtually empty. Then we met our waiter who has the personality of a snail. My friend tried to order two drinks from their “full” bar but they didn’t have the first and to the second he replied “I doubt we have any mint” without even checking first. When asked for recommendations he said “I don’t know just name some things.” The waiter seemed put off by any questions asked or requests made. Like for example my friends drink was too strong and she asked for some orange juice and he therefore returned with a thimble (a tablespoon as best) of orange juice. We both got the chicken parmesan which was very bland. The food was mediocre at best and the cost was not worth the quality. I do not recommend!
FYI, If you order marsala be sure you ask if it's the creamy marsala or the salty broth with mushrooms.
The restaurant week menu brought us in (more choices than most other participating restaurants). The cuisine was truly delicious. Great service, great atmosphere. This is my new go to for great Italian food. Try the scallops with angel hair pasta - you're welcome!
Awesome food!!!! Great wine selection
