The food at the 71st location is much better! But if your looking for a quiet location this is it.
Food was good once we got it and got it corrected. Service was very poor. Multiple mistakes and just incompetence. Left without drink refills, cheese on things that we were very clear couldn't have cheese because of allergies for our girls. Talked to the manager... He offered to take care of our daughters kids meal. He never apologized. Didn't seem to really care...We used to love this place but unfortunately this kind of experience is becoming normal there. Probably won't be back.
Ordered through door dash. And the food was cold. Didn't taste fresh and There was no silverware. The Sweet tea was more like Semi sweet water and I am very unhappy I paid 18 for this mess. 2 hours later and I am sick to my stomach. UPDATE!!! Manager of the restaurant called me and was very nice and apologized. It must have been an off day. I am SO grateful for that call. It shows that they TRULY DO CARE. So I am re-starring my experience to a 3 from a 1. THANK YOU JOHN!!!
Walked in as a party of 6, moved to the bar for a drink and Emmy immediately got us seated. Brought out chips, salsa, waters and took our drink order. She literally deserves an Emmy for her service throughout the evening. Super attentive to not just our table, but everyone around her area. No delays in service here! Great first time experience at an Abuelo’s for this Texan. Will be back.
So the over by Tulsa Hills has some good food, not dripping with grease like other Mexican restaurants around the area. The taco salad is huge and very presentable. The enchiladas are equally as good, with beans and rice. it all tasted fresh. The service was really friendly even though I give the staff a hard time. I compensate with gratuity equally.
Server was great but the food was very poor portions. Two steak tacos with a side of rice and beans for 16.99. barley any meat on my tacos and more lettuce than anything. Thankfully my wife had a nice margarita and it was her birthday so I didn't want to complain
Service was not as good as expected...had reservations at 7. Did not seat us till after 730...set there more that 15 min before we could get waited on....ran out of drinks often and had to ask to get more...had a party of 8 cost for dinner was 180.00 that was expected but for that kind of bill you'd expect to have better service??? Food was very good and plenty of portions just needed better help.
Our recent experience with this Abuelo's was horrible, and it was all due to our waitress. She was incredibly curt all night, with single word responses, when she would even stop by the table. When refilling our salsa and water she simply dumped other tables "unused" cups into the empty ones on our table (is that even legal??). She practically threw our chip bowls and plates onto the table. After getting our entrees, she did not come back to the table until over 45 minutes later to hand us our check. The manager said that the issue would be addressed, and gave us entree vouchers, but that's pretty hollow and not useful, as we feel no need to ever return to this restaurant and hope to dissuade other from doing so in the first place.
our 2nd time here in the last 3 months. 1st was disappointing, but wanted to give another try. service was slow, but friendly. women's restrooms were nasty for the 2nd time. very dirty and smells horrible, like a backed up crap pot, throws off wanting dinner. Pork medallions were wonderful and so were the beans. however the queso tasted worse than taco bell or store bought which is very sad. I understand that it is hard to find employees these days, but there were only a few people in the restaurant at the time and the waiter was slow. probably won't go back any time soon.
Food and service were excellent. Our server was very attentive. Only issue I saw was there were old chips, and paper under the table and water on a chair. They should clean better before seating new customers.
