Anyone who follows me on Yelp (or has ever been my wingman on a road trip) knows that I brake for local coffee shops. It was a cold, rainy morning and I was passing through Tulsa, driving historic Route 66, and I knew I had to stop at 918 Coffee as soon as I saw it. This place has a hip bohemian vibe that's very comfortable. The menu is standard and easy to understand. If you're looking for frou-frou coffee drinks, you can get one here. I'm a purist and go for the classics, so I ordered a cappuccino ($4.75) and selected a keto / low-sugar cookie ($3) from the counter. The employees were kind and my cappuccino was ready quickly. I got it to go, and I was surprised at how large the cup was. You get a lot for your money here. My cappuccino was tasty and made with more fruit-forward beans, which I enjoyed. It was light and not too bitter, with an appropriate amount of foam. I was pleased. I was also impressed that 918 Coffee serves organic, fair trade coffee and tea. Most of the items sold are made locally, which is also commendable for a neighborhood coffee shop. I didn't hang out since I had to get back on the road, but there's a really nice outdoor patio for sunny days, and it looked like a good place to hang out and work. Not super comfy or plush, but practical and efficient. This is a solid place to get a good cup of coffee.
Update: they currently only have oat milk for their milk alternative for $1 upcharge. Still make a delicious dirty chai.Hailey is amazing! She had freshly made the vegan garden burger (highly recommend to anyone) which was full of flavor and super filling. She also made my spiced chai latte with almond milk and espresso to perfection.I highly recommend this café to grab lunch, study, or catch up with friends and enjoy a variety of drinks and food. They have wonderful options here for vegans, vegetarians, and those who are gluten free.
Pretty nice little coffee spot. Have enjoyed the food/drink I’ve had here. Workers are all generally nice and attentive.
Tried to slip me Oat milk because they're out of Almond milk. They're not nutritionally interchangeable (allergens, carbs, flavor) and there are grocery stores nearby (I'd have brought my own before substituting an allergen). There was no sweetener or napkins out for customers. The red head, male barista who took over and steeped my plain tea (I couldn't safely get a latte here) was very fast, kind, polite. He was the only redeemable part of this purchase. He seems too talented for this place honestly had us wondering: is this poor guy a hostage?
I had visit 918Coffee a couple of times in January and it was okay.Majority of the staff had made different drinks for me before and its always been milky or honestly just weak (Espresso).Yes, I love the fact they are wearing mask but that didn't stop them from touching the top of the lid where the mouth goes or grabbing a used pitcher for my latte and poured oat milk into whatever was in it.Gross and thankful I am not allergic to oat milk; It wasn't what I ordered but It also didn't occur to me that was mine till I took a sip (Very disgusted). Baristas seem like they don't care about cleanness. My assistant and I came back one more time to decide if we wanted to blog about this coffee shop and I have to say I am highly impressed with the barista name "Van". Not only was she wearing gloves when making our drinks but the drinks were extremely perfect; we could taste the espresso and flavors and the nice thin layer on foam with beautiful art. She was very welcoming and even asked if there was anything we were allergic to. I found it very interesting that I had order the same drink previously from the same two other baristas so at the end of my meeting I asked Van " What did she do differently then the others?" she said "Honestly I follow the recipe, stir the shots w/flavor, and make the milk catch underneath then proceed with art or thin layer of foam because it's a latte also not lukewarm". I was even more impressed with the details she does when making drinks. My assistant then asked customers for the view on their drinks and the fact they said they only come here when she is working had sold me on blogging about this coffee shop. I hope in the future the other baristas can learn from her on how to improve and I am very excited about writing my blog about your coffee shop. I will definitely be back just like the other customers said " Only when Van is working".
I enjoy supporting local businesses and 918 is no different. The customer service is excellent friendly people I went in today for a Blackberry soda and dairy-free lemon cookie that was delicious! I talked with the Barista and let him know that I wanted a sweet drink and he whipped it up for me. Thank you so much 918 Coffee!! Support small businesses yall!
Loved this place! I'd been wanting to come in previously and am so glad I did! Got the meal deal and it was great! Vegans, veggies, coffee, and tea lovers, THIS PLACE IS FOR US!!!
Usually I like stopping in at this spot, and when they don’t have one of the generic ham and cheddar bagels in the display case, someone has always offered to make one. However today the girl decided to tell me the only thing available is what’s in the display case as if it’s so hard to make a ham and cheddar bagel and put it in the toaster for repeat customers. Not a great start to my day and to see someone tell you exactly opposite of what you have seen happen numerous times from other employees makes me question customer satisfaction and management. Normally love this place, today it hit different
Delicious.coffee! I love going here and getting a candy inspired latte! The drink was made promptly, and the atmosphere is relaxing. I enjoy going here for a morning coffee. I have yet to try the food, but will happen in the future.
Great peppermint tea, delicious coffee, helpful staff!
