We really had a good time here as well as a tasty lunch. Waitstaff was available, knew the menu and got everything right.I only knew about this place because of the t- shirts. No surprise then that the gift shop was not much smaller than the actual restaurant. This was probably a one off for me as I don't know that I will ever get back to Stillwater. That said, it was worth the detour.
The place is a classic American saloon decorated with enamel plates and advertisements from the last century, it seems clean, it is not very bright, it does not make you want to stay for a long time. We ordered the classic potatoes with cheddar, one myth less, refried potatoes, covered with a layer that looks like cheese and grilled forming a compact element that is difficult to tear off. the hamburgers come out burnt on the outside, cooked on the inside, without juice, taste of nothing, the bread is not very fluffy, typical of the industry. The funniest thing is that if you ask for a refill, instead of bringing a new glass with a drink, the waiter brings his full glass and pours yours until it is full and leaves his glass with the rest on the bar.... never seen so unique process. obviously that little drink can not be served to anyone after a while. conclusion, the illusion of eating a generous portion of fries and a dripping hamburger in a typical place, like in the old days, vanished in eskimos joe. They say second parts were never good....
Sweet peppered bacon cheese fries with jalapeños were fantastic. Burger decent. Beer cold . Sat at upstairs bar. Good service. Busy place. Going back.
Overrated and overpriced. I’m sorry but no. The fries were $8! So greasy. The ranch however was really good. It’s a shame they don’t have wings to go with it. We were told the fries would feed 3-4 people. Not hardly. I’ve never seen my husband not finish a burger but he couldn’t eat this. He tried. It was gross. All you could taste was the chili. So overpowering. My turkey sandwich looked like a school cafeteria sandwich. It all reminded me of bad diner food. How does this place get such good reviews? The service was not bad and the margarita was good but we will not return.
We got to Joe's earlier than usual. It actually was nicer just me and the wife. Staff was great. Swissmushroomm burger c and Chili perfect. Well be back real soon. Took a to go order of another burger to my kid on campus. I love the newer design on the cups.
Wonderful atmosphere and very good food!The service was fast and friendly. Lots of choices on the menu.The fries are amazing and you can't go wrong with the cheese fries to start with. I didn't get a picture because they were gone too fast!The open face chili burger that I got, pictured, was fantastic.The store was fun and had lots of choices on clothing.Highly recommend!
Very cool place! The building itself is neat and the inside decor is even better! The food is great! Definitely check out the store before you leave! The amount of different things they sell is impressive! I really liked how they sell university stuff as well! Check this place out when you visit Stillwater!
We had a large family party with many different orders. I thought they did a great job taking care of us, and checking in occasionally with our tables. Made my first trip to Stillwater since a kid a great experience. Will definitely recommend and come back.
Maybe this is sacrilege in this town, but I honestly prefer to avoid any of the Joe's. The food is always meh, seating takes forever, and it just seems like such a letdown to guests whenever they come to town and want to try it since they've heard of it for years. The bacon cheese fries are decent. With a better french fry, they could be fantastic.Edit: after many years and many tries, it still is below average food. For the price, you just can’t justify it.
My mom brought me to this restaurant when I was 6 months old. And now years later we returned to this restaurant and I got to experience something new. We had great food and service. Loved the atmosphere and the gift shop attached to the place. I would highly recommend this place to all my friends and family who haven't tried this place yet. And will spread the word about this place far and wide. And I'll definitely be eating here again. Had a great time today. 10/10
