It's tough seeing the Dome in disrepair, it's such a distinctive building.
I am hoping that OKC will turn the Gold Dome Bank into a great music venue. I think the state making in an investment in OKC’s mid century architecture would be a wonderful idea, plus we need another great music venue!
Remnants of what once was and what it could be. Very sad to see such a staple of OKC and Route 66 look so deserted and unkempt. It's my hope this building is brought back to its fullest soon.
When driving along Route 66, near 23rd and Classen, you cannot help but notice the Gold Dome. This golden wonder is not far from the milk bottle icon along Route 66, so you can check out both along the way.This is an amazing, vintage building!!!! I wish somebody would/could step in and save it. Absolutely stunning!It was so unusual and literally shone in the darkness. Truly a favorite piece of architecture !Oklahoma City’s Gold Dome, now eligible for National Register listing, was constructed in 1958 as the world’s fifth geodesic dome. It’s been a prominent Route 66 landmark and popular photo op ever since. You can photograph the Gold Dome from various vantage points, such as the Milk Bottle Grocery on N Classen, but it’s a great photo op no matter which you chose.

The Dome is fence off i think at one time was a bank. It's close .We stop in at I- Hop and there was 1 person who Seating people taking orders And told us it would be a minute it was couple before us who was sitting there waiting 15 minutes 3 decided to walk out.This isn't the dome it's close sorry for the mistake. That IHOP is up by stay bridge Up by the Kilpatrick turnpike Do not go there Please.
I remember this building all my life since I too was born in 1958. I remember going to this bank as a child and getting sucker from the Teller. My Mom and I had to go inside it was an amazing building. This Build definitely started my foundation in loving Architectural designs.
