This is for gluten sensitve people. This resturant is amazing; atmosphere, food & wait staff included. Michael's is known for the caesar salad & that was the reason for my visit on my daughter birthday. I requested the salad with no croutons & was told Michael wouldn't modify the salad. I asked the waiter to please ask Michael & let him know this wasn't just a preference but an allergy issue. The waiter came back & said Michael said he would NOT accommodate my request. SERIOUSLY!!??? So, if you are gluten free you might need to call ahead to make sure they are willing to accommodate your sensitivity outside the caesar salad. I hope by writing the review that Michael will reconsider.
You are doing yourself a huge disservice if you do not dine here when you are in Oklahoma City... I have a good friend who lives nearby, and we went to numerous other establishments before I discovered this place through some serious research... My friend had not been to the restaurant in perhaps 15 years... Now, It is his go-to... And it is my go-to when I am in Oklahoma City... If I am there for one night, there is not even a thought, this is where I am going to dine... I might even go there both nights if it was just a two-night stay in the city...You will find Michael, the owner, Greeting And checking in on every table while you are there... His care is only that you have the finest dining experience that you can... And if you dine here, you will... A word of advice, the specials are always something to think very strongly about ordering... If the regular meals are 100%, then the specials are always 110% or more... The owner has been involved in restaurants probably since he was born, and it shows in his offerings, presentation, and service... It would be hard to beat this restaurant ANYWHERE...

The food is excellent. Service spotty. Ambience nothing special. We generally have the KC strip, shrimp, stroganoff. Have never had a problem with the food preparation or taste. The service ranks from excellent with just the right amount of attention but not intrusive to where is the waiter, did she forget about us? Very spotty just depending on which server you get. I have been going there regularly for about 20 years and lately things just don't seem up to par. First Michael was always friendly, ready to help and correct anything that was not perfect and always attempted to accommodate if you dropped in or trying to get a reservation. That has changed you call for a reservation it just a not available response and end of conversation. The prices have risen to the point you have to question the value even for the excellent preparation. $45.00 for grilled shrimp? Steaks are high everywhere but these seem to be priced higher than average and are equal to but not better than other steak houses. Of course I will keep going here but just not as often until they start offering a perfect dining experience for the price
I called on a Thursday to ask about takeout for a birthday party. The young lady who answered the phone, told me when to call. I called Saturday night and Michael answered the phone and said they dont take to go orders on the weekend. I said the young lady who answered the phone didn't tell me that and let her know they need to tell people that because this was for a birthday tonight. He began yelling, that ONLY he answers the phone and I said I talked to a woman and he yelled again that ONLY he answers the phone and HE HUNG UP ON ME. I tried calling back, but somehow it went to voicemail! He was very rude to a friend of mine as well, but since I had been to his restaurants several times, precovid, and I had never seen that side of him. He completely ruined the party we had planned and ruined my evening. But he didn't care. Of course, I will never eat there again but he doesn't care about that either.
We came for our holiday party as a treat for our restaurant staff. We were greeted warmly by Michael with a handshake and a thank you (each of us, he came around the table to all 7 of us) which was a very nice touch. Our server, John, was knowledgeable and quick. We all ordered something different so we could try a bit of each. It was all amazing. The salads were especially good. It was all top notch, we will be back. Thank you!
Never had a bad meal or bad service and my husband and I have gone to Michael's many times over the years. We are certainly not what one would refer to as "regulars" but Michael has always come over to greet us and our meals have always been great. Michael treats everyone as a friend...regardless whether you're a regular or there occasionally. It's a special occasion place for us and seeing Michael is always a pleasure. We have recommended Michael's to out of town friends and heard nothing but praises. Want a great meal, drinks and service...go to "Michael's Grill." You will not be disappointed.
