I would give no stars if possible. Approx 3 days ago I stayed in this hotel and left some shoes I had recently bought. Friday I had realized I had left them in the room. I called and stated I had left some shoes, the lady checked she said and said nothing had been turned in. And told me to talk to the manager Saturday, that she would be in. No such luck. They have not been helpful in any kind of way. I will not be doing business with this hotel again. I would not recommend staying here and or leaving anything of any kind of value in the room.
The District is such a fun, funky spot surrounded by a wonderful community and fun, lively nightlife. Our front desk attendant, Ollie, was attentive, friendly, and super helpful! Even though there was a small mix up with our room, it was totally worth it because we ended up in one of the newly remodeled rooms. The pool was amazing, music and atmosphere were above and beyond! John, our server at the pool bar, made amazing alcoholic and non-alcoholic for us that were scrumdiddliumptious! We are so excited to book our next stay already! Keep up the great work remodeling, when it’s done it’s going to be the hottest spot in OKC!
While the rooms aren't perfect (and by no means terrible), I've never felt safer or comfortable at hotel resort before. The rates are reasonable and the nightlife here is a must do. I probably will go back here if I'm ever up in the Oklahoma City area again for an extended visit and MAYBE next time I won't be too afraid to hop in the pool during the summer. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the other guests were very polite towards myself, and the location is close enough off of Pennsylvania that everything is a 5 to 20 minute drive.Highly recommend this place to anyone else in the gay community!
I didnt stay in a room but I went with a friend and had a good time. It is very big on pride which can make the place lively and fun but for some people that may not be like as much. Good drinks at the bar for good prices and they have a pool that they charge 10 dollars for if your not staying in a room which can make for a good place to cool off for the summer.
Everyone working there was excellent; friendly, quick to provide service and information. Some rose above and beyond. Ollie and Priscilla, of the front desk and housekeeping both merit special mention. Not only did they perform their tasks with high standards of customer service and close attention to detail they both lent their personalities to the overall festive atmosphere of the resort. This is a venerable property, with decades of tradition as a haven for the LGBTQ community in the heart of the Bible belt. It is the center of the local community and the nucleus of a developing zone of businesses and services including clubs. It is undergoing development and metamorphosis in terms of the accommodations and facilities within the District itself. The owners are often onsite and dedicated to seeing it become the crown jewel of the area while maintaining it's traditional role and an oasis for travelers and locals alike. We stopped there for a 3 day visit and ended up staying for 10 days and were sorry to go.
I prepaid my room two days in advance, arrived to check in but OYO booked someone else in it. Hotel refunded my money then comped a room. I highly recommend the hotel, I DO NOT recommend using OYO for booking rooms
I had a drag performance here in their Lounge and they gave me a room for the night. The room was nice and clean and in a great location of the hotel. The staff was super sweet and professional. Thank you District!
Has potential to surpass the complex in its heyday. Keep supporting it LGBT community and it will return to its former glory in a much more relaxed and resorting setting. I have no doubt they would have surpassed their projections if Covid 19 had not come along as an unforeseeable obstical . Kudos on a terrific staff they could make a shack seem palatial.
$10 to swim, $5 to park. LOL. Glad I'm old and have better things to do in my gay life. Sure miss the Habana. Much more friendly to the gay community.
The best part about my stay with the front desk staff was very sweet and took good care of me. However once I checked into the room I found only half of the toilet paper holder attached to the wall while moving the bed stands so that I could plug in the table lamps to see I discovered trash behind them. And there was no toilet paper in the room or washcloth. Luckily there was someone cleaning the rooms and when she brought me a washcloth it was so thin and threadbare and I’m pretty sure it was one that they used to clean the rooms with. I’ve stayed here many times normally just to come down for a weekend to hang out with friends drink a few beers at this time I was actually on my way back from Albuquerque New Mexico and just wanted a good night sleep and a shower. I could’ve paid $20 less and stated to comfort in value for my money
