the food is wonderful! szechuan cuisine done right. ? highly recommend!
We ordered chili chicken, meicai pork belly, mushrooms and rice cake. Only chili chicken tasted, others are so so.
Fantastic and 100% authentic 四川 style dishes! Very friendly (yet super low-key) staff. We were attended to and served very quickly with everything arriving efficiently and as expected. As for specific dishes: The fried buns (煎包) are yummy; the cold cucumber salad (拍黄瓜) is fresh and delicious; the crispy-skin eggplant (脆皮茄子) is spicy but not nearly as wild and fiery as you might think, definitely very edible by anyone tolerant of Asian spice… Oh, we had the glass noodles with shredded cabbage, which turned out to be a favorite of our somewhat Chinese-food-averse child; our other child (born and initially raised in China) devoured the egg and tomato (番茄鸡蛋) – a longtime homestyle favorite the Chuanyu folks do splendidly with. Overall, I give it six stars… Oh, and… the price is VERY reasonable for what you’re getting, certainly several dollars less than we expected, which made for a perfect post-meal surprise!
Authentic, fresh and delicious
The menu here is super vast! I wanted some comfort Asian food, and Chuanyu offered that. I ordered it through Door Dash, and it came hot and great portions. I got the 5 spicy crispy tofu and steamed pork dumplings. They were very good, and I had a bunch of leftovers.
Wish service was better. There was only my husband, me and another customer in the restaurant. The waitress never checked on us and never refilled water before we asked.Pan fried pork dumpling: it was crispy and juicy. I would recommend thisSzechuan style braised beef shank noodle soup: It would’ve been better if they used a little thicker noodles. However, the meat was soft and tender at the same time.Beef with cumin: Cumin flavor was too strong for me, but my husband enjoyed it.Overall, food was good but would go to somewhere else for better service.
I was here during lunch and overall everything was pretty good, I have no complaints. The staff was nice and pretty quick with everything as well as the food was good. I had the Szechuan chicken and I enjoyed it. If you are in the area Id recommend it. They have a wide selection of food
Me encanta la comida y el buen ambiente, que tiene.
My fiance & I were looking for authentic food from Sichuan province of China. This place is absolutely amazing! Loved everything we ordered, the food portions are great and tasted heavenly! Highly recommend if anyone is looking for authenticity!
I have an admission: For some reason, I've long had this nagging feeling that I *should* have something bad to say about Chuanyu, despite the fact that I've never had anything but fantastic meals the times that I've eaten there. Perhaps it is a soreness from the great restaurants that have come and gone from that building over the years? I'm not sure.Since the pandemic I've taken a liking to lo mein, I've tried it from a number of places in the far NW metro and have developed a list of favorites...excepting Chuanyu, whose lo mein I hadn't tried until today. After today, they win. Chuanyu's lo mein is the best that I've had in the area. Their noodles aren't lead weights, and the proportion of vegetables and meat is perfect in balancing the flavors.Chuanyu has the best Chinese food on the far NW side, and it's not even close. The food is well prepared, and dining in it's very well plated. They never deliver less than what they say. When they tell you it's going to be crispy, or hot & spicy, that's what you're going to get. And it's always going to be balanced, flavorful and prompt. Highly recommended.
