What a great place to eat! We decided to stop in for lunch on a Saturday. They had some great specials! The service was excellent. If we are ever back in OKC, we’ll be sure to stop in!
Stopped here around 2 on a Friday for a late lunch. Place was packed but didn’t have to wait for a table. The lunch ribeye was sold out so we opted for the lunch sirloin and chicken fried steak. All I can say is that this really has sadly gone down hill! Food was average at best. Our waitress said she had only been there a few days so maybe the kitchen staff is all new as well. We will probably not go back anytime soon.
Celebrated a birthday lunch at Cattlemen’s today. The service was outstanding! The steaks were extremely tender. One steak in our party was too tender, consistency of pâté. Everyone agreed that the steaks were entirely too salty as well. The salad dressing was quite tasty but our salads were swimming in it. Thankfully, the great service compensated for the disappointing steaks. Five stars for service, two stars for our meals. :-/
Could not wait to finally try this steakhouse out. We arrived at 5PM and were sat quickly. I ordered the lamb fries for an appetizer and one of the group also ordered the onion rings. I ordered the special that night which was a bone in prime ribeye (I love ribeyes) and ordered it medium. I also had a side Silas with house dressing and the baked potato. The lamb fries and the onion rings were excellent and the salad was fresh and good and the house dressing was good. We waited almost 40 minutes from the time the appetizers arrived and the salads arrived until the steaks were brought out the waitress was apologetic to us, and asked us to check the cook on our steaks. Well as soon as I touched mine I knew it was way over cooked as it was firm as the table, curly into it and it was well, well done like the moisture was cooked out of it. Waitress apologized and said she would get me a new one asap. The rest of the group's food was properly prepared. 35 minutes later I finally get my new steak and it was medium well so I said fine as I was not going to wait 2 hours for a steak to be properly cooked. I will say however the steak was excellent, but the cooks in the back need to wake up...
Wonderful meal of lamb fries with perfectly prepared steak. I actually had the country fried steak and it was the best that I've ever had. My wife said that her NY strip was the best that she has ever had! This is a must when visiting OKC!
The service was friendly. The lamb fries were amazing and the bone-in prim ribeye was cooked to perfection. A coworker and I stopped in based on another's recommendation. The highlight of the trip for sure.
This place is evidently an Oklahoma City icon and is probably coasting on reputation because it has been around for so long. It was definitely a good solid steak. It had good flavor, it was tender, no complaints there. In general, it was the inattention to detail that was inexcusable. First of all, our server was extremely hurried which made us feel rushed. Given how simple the menu is, there should be no reason for these fumbles. One of the steaks had to go back because it was overcooked. Instead of coming out with fresh fries, it came out with a baked potato. Mushrooms were ordered but never received. Little things like that. Again, the steak was good but this was probably a one-and-done experience for us.
You are going back in time dining here and it's a terrific experience. The waiting area is a little different, you go through the restaurant up some stairs and it is a legit lounge. Great bartender, friendly and fun spirited and makes a mean drink (in a good way). My husband and son both had the t-bone. The mac n cheese was buttery, creamy and rich flavored. I had the chicken fried steak well battered with a little extra gravy. I really like that the chicken fries steak is laid on a bed of gravy. The pie looked outstanding but we were so full from everything else we had to pass. So dessert was finishing my bloody mary made with bourbon ?. Terrific experience worth the stop
this is the worst restaurant I have ever been to. COOK FIRE! cooking steaks is not your line of life. you allowed yourself to send coal to a man, not well-cooked meat. from what you have prepared will be 100% heartburn in the stomach. I do not recommend this place to anyone. a person who knows the right taste of food will be very disappointed in this place. I am still surprised how this place has such a high rating of 4.5 stars.
Delicious and good value for money but the server made too many errors with our order. Not enough staff at busy times.
