Having ate at almost all of the hibachi restaurants in the area it was by far the least favorite. First everything you touch is that restaurant sticky. Second the flavor wasn't there when we got home we added some teriyaki and sesame oil whichever helped alot. I do have to say the chef was great which is why 3 stars he was entertaining and helpful.
Overrated, it could be very nice restaurant but everything in it looks outdated. 30 year old business and everything inside it is 30 years old except the Wait staff. Looked like the north side of the restaurant had a stream of water running across the floor. And none of the bathroom doors closed properly. Put some money back into your restaurant, at least have the general maintenance done and fix the AC.
Food is good and service was good too.Place was super smokey, so bad then when I left I couldn't breath through my nose.....Menus were pretty dirty. Got some kind of dark colored grease on my shirt from just holding the menu.Prices are kinda high compared to some of the other hibachi places I've been. But the smoke was bad..... I probably won't be back....
Don't bother eating here. We've been eating at yamato for years and it was great. However, it's went down hill with shrinking food portions, awful service, and cleanliness. To top it all off we went there for my son's 22nd birthday and had a party of 12. They added gratuity to our bill, which would've been fine had we even had decent service. Nobody's drinks were refilled and the people that order shrimp recieved half portions. After speaking to the man there and letting him know we were leaving a cash tip he refused and charged our credit card anyway. We use to eat here atleast once a month with our family but won't be returning.
So I called to see if they could handle a food allergy. They said yes, so we went. They didn't understand what gluten was. The server kept saying we needed to tell the chef but she didn't get it. So we continued to ask then the manager came over and he explained that they only have kikomam soy sauce and low sodium. Not GF soy sauce. On the phone I specified the GF allergy. He was the one that said come on we can handle it... it wasn't that great of experience, I mean the food tasted good but it messed up things for us. Then our bill was outrageous they bill extra for fried rice 4 people no drinks, no military discount $170 bill... not worth it not worth the hassle, they don't understand very well..
It was an exciting time and the food was very good.

I absolutely love this restaurant. Its expensive as hell but so worth it. The guys that book your food for you are hilarious and always make it a great time!
Wonderful atmosphere, food and company!! Highly recommend!
