My husband and my brother-in-law booked a Mother’s Day getaway for my sister and me, and we loved it! It was quiet and homey, and the pictures did not mislead on the size and comfort of the rooms. We stayed in the Secret Rose Room, and while I definitely think it’s better suited as a romantic getaway, it was a lot of fun going with my sister. We loved the grounds- my favorite part was the koi pond with the blooming lily pads and the red eared sliders swimming with the koi. The king-sized bed was comfortable, the bathroom very nice, and the decor elegant and pleasant. And that’s not even mentioning the food. We ordered dinner there, and the food was excellent. I ordered the sirloin, and the generously-portioned food had great flavor, as well as beautiful presentation. Breakfast was delivered to our room in the morning and was also delicious. I definitely want to return with my husband to this comfortable, cozy and beautiful bed and breakfast!
It was my Mother’s birthday. Whispering Pines was a pleasant surprise. We met the owner, they made our evening feel very special. The food was excellent. It was a wonderful dining experience.
Food was great. The ambiance was very nice. But I was a bit disappointed with the hostess/ waitress/ owner she was way under dressed for this type of environment. She was in a t-shirt that said “love” on it
As always Whispering Pines never disappoints! Food is always amazing and the service is as well! The rural setting is beautiful and quiet. It is truly worth a visit.
My wife and I recently stayed here while visiting family in the area. We stayed in the English Hunt room which is on the second floor of the Inn. We arrived slightly later than planned but the host was able to make it so that we could check ourselves in. It went very smoothly. The room was clean and comfortable. It was nice- like staying in a relative's house but with our own bathroom. At a little after 4 in the morning, we were awakened by what sounded like a domestic dispute in the adjoining room. After about five minutes of listening to VERY angry yelling we determined that it was probably not a fight but it was a RUDE unbelievably- loud telephone argument. This continued for a few more minutes so I knocked on the door and asked if everything was okay? The woman who answered the door answered in broken English that everything was fine she was just dealing with a problem with her daughter in Vietnam. From the looks of the room the woman was living there although I can't say for certain. Then she closed the door and continued yelling into the phone. My wife texted the host and also called and left the host a message. Shortly after that, the yelling decreased in volume. We finally got to sleep at around 6. When we left in the morning, the woman in the adjoining room had her door wide open, gave us a dirty look as we passed and then followed us down the hallway watching us as we left. A truly bizarre twist on what otherwise would have been a nice stay.
This place is wonderful and food was the best I have ever had. I don't like to eat out because home cooking is better than eating out. Not this time and that is the restaurant for dinner and also the in room breakfast. Jacuzzi was great and the room was very comfortable. I actually relaxed for a change. Thank you and hope to stay again soon when the trees are full of leaves.
We chose to eat outside which was serene and peaceful. Family owned and Dawn the owner and prior ICU nurse took care of us. She was sweet and we had an excellent meal with attentive service
Let me start by saying that the food was pretty good. This isn't so much a review of the food as it is a review of... I don't know... principle? I came to OpenTable looking for something new for V-Day. I found this place and decided to give it a try to have something different. We usually go to Ranch for special occasions. I booked the restaurant and we looked at the menu to determine what we wanted days before. We had planned to spend about $150 with tip. Well, we get there and find out the menu is prix fixe for the night. I think prix fixe menu's and prices are probably the biggest scams in the restaurant business and the one other time this has happened to us in NYC we got up and left... only this time it was V-Day and this place is so far out in the boondocks I don't even know if we could have gotten into Buffalo Wild Wings down the street. So, unfortunately, we stayed. Prix fixe menus usually limit it down to one or two main options but that wasn't the case here and why I think this was just a sham to get more money out of your patrons. You got to pick your main course from the same menu... only now you also have to take a lobster bisque, salad, and dessert that you don't want on top of it. And now instead of spending $52 dollars each for a filet and rack of lamb, we are forced to spend $95 dollars each for the food we didn't want. We tried each thing but it wasn't very good... let me take that back... I'm not a "foodie" so it was probably good if you like these other items but I didn't care for any of them. Even the desert... The Tiramisu was good, but why in the world did you not have a chocolate option on V-Day? You bring out two deserts and not one of them chocolate? So long story longer... We ended up spending $250 dollars instead of $150 for stuff we didn't want or eat just so they could take advantage of patrons on a day they knew they could get away with it. Needless to say, this put a bad taste in our mouth and we won't be going back.
The food was amazing. The service was one of the best service I’ve ever had. Overall we had a fantastic Valentines Day.
Terrible service
