Tried this place last weekend. Was hopeful about it being great but man was I disappointed. There was hardly any meat in the tacos. Like maybe 2 tbsp a piece, the nachos were lacking meat as well. I was excited for the street corn and that was a let down as well. I really wanted this place to be good and a regular for me but I can't justify the amount of money spent on less than food.I hope things get better for this place.

Damn good food. Well priced and the tortillas are great…..really enjoyed the jackfruit tacos and quesadillas! Prickly pear margs hit the spot too ?. Plenty of open seating.
Admittedly we got the nachos and not the tacos, so please read my review with that in mind but the food was almost inedible. We had been excited about trying this place, having tried to come here multiple times to find it closed at random times although Facebook had marked it “open.” So when we found it open on a Sunday afternoon we jumped at the opportunity to try the food although it was in between meal times and we were not overly hungry. We got the nacho combo with the pork. It came with a side of rice and beans. The side items were good and we took those home with us. We couldn’t tell if it was ONLY the chips but if that was all it was then they need to dump those chips and buy new ones. The chips had an almost chemical taste to them that the queso and meat couldn’t overpower and since we haven’t been there before and had nothing to compare it to we were unsure if this was normal for the establishment. For over $15 definitely not somewhere we will be returning even though we were hoping to have found a cool place to bring our dogs and hang out.

I got the pork Al Pastor taco and the flavor was unreal I absolutely loved it! The regular guacamole (not the strawberry) had a different texture and had a different taste than any I had before. It was still good just different. They do give you plenty of chips with the chips and guac!
The atmosphere is fun but the food has gone way downhill. I'm hoping it was just an off day. The quesadillas were dripping in grease and way over cooked. Everyone at our table was really disappointed with the food quality, and had previously thought the food here tasted good.

Recess Taco Park is a hidden gem. Fun, laid back and great drinks/food. Great add to downtown Norman.
The loud music can be heard and felt in nearby businesses, including medical facilities. Quite disrespectful to have such loud music during business hours.
