I had not been to Oklahoma for nearly 30 years. When I did live there the barbecue was amazing. So on this trip back I made sure to stop in Norman to check out the barbecue places..I ended up at Ray's and it did not disappoint. I went for lunch and it was really busy but the staff and servers were very efficient Very highly recommended!!

Fantastic food, great service and friendly people. I try to go once a week. Try the Ray’s the roof sandwich with links and brisket. The ribs are always tender, flavorful and don’t need sauce. Baked potatoes are always on point. BEST BEANS IN OKLAHOMA DON’T MISS THEM.
Ray's has the best bbq in Norman. Their ribs are so tender and delicious. The brisket is awesome. All their sides are so good. And their customer service is always great!

We dined here a couple weeks ago and were disappointed. Based on what I was told, I was expecting great barbeque. For a restaurant that has "smokehouse" in their name, the barbeque was pretty bland. Not much smokey flavor. There is indoor dining, but it fast food. Don't expect to be seated and have a waiter take your order. I was also disappointed they don't serve beer. Beer and barbeque go hand-in-hand. Would I eat here again - maybe? But it wouldn't be my first choice
Visit #1 - I'm a TX gal and let me tell you what they got right and what they got wrong. The BBQ sauce comes is regular or hot. Loved the hot. The was just the right amount of tangy heat. They also serve the most soft toasted bread ? and do not leave without a side of smoked beans. But unfortunately the brisket had no flavor, it was tender but bland. I'm going to give it another visit so this is Visit 1

Really enjoyable. We got our food quickly, brisket was a little dry, but the fries and bread were really good. Green beans were meh.
I have to say it's the best BBQ that I have ever eaten. And the place was packed and the food got to me really quickly. You need to try it out very well worth the trip just awsume.
