This was a return visit to the diner, we first dined there this time last year. When we were planning our trip we knew we wanted to come back and we were not disappointed. We were immediately seated and given our beverages and within moments our server "Q" greated us and took our order. She was cheerful and shared that she has just received a promotion and after our service we understood why, she was professional and the food was served promptly. I had a hamburger salad and my husband the turkey meal, everything was delicious and fresh. We highly recommend Black Bear and look forward to returning again next year!
Excellent food! Good coffee! Smiling staff, and service was appropriately attentive but not smothering. Fair pricing, especially because portions were perfect. Plus you can get these hilarious fuzzy slippers!
Stayed at La Quinta Inn next to restaurant. Great value and excellent food. The decor is super cute with the black bear theme as well.
Great food and friendly service
This was my first time here.I got the fried chicken dinner. It came with a side salad and cornbread.I liked the salad and the cornbread was the bomb!I didn’t care for the chicken, there was no meat on it mostly just bone.The mashed potatoes were too sweet like too much milk was added.The veggies were good.I will probably visit this place again but I’ll order the taco salad next time because I was debating between the two.
Really disappointed with this place. The server was extremely nice! The food was a total let down. I ordered a house salad with a tuna melt and the “salad” was so underwhelming. It was lettuce with two cucumbers. The tuna melt itself wasn’t that great to me, it had huge pickle and cucumber chunks inside. However, the fries were delicious! The western style burger was just a mess in my opinion, and hard to eat. The decorations are adorable though! Another complaint I had was the kitchen staff. The restaurant was kind of empty when we got here so we could hear everything in the back. We heard complaining from an employee, laughing about order choices, and just rude interactions with each other. It just seemed a mess back there. I normally don’t care about kitchen staff because it’s none of my concern but these instances were so loud you couldn’t ignore it.
I was upset with OK due to all of the construction going on when I was passing through but this restaurant made me forget all about that! Everyone is so friendly and accommodating and the food is out of this world. Huge portions, cheap prices, and that pot roast really warmed my heart. The minestrone soup was amazing and the banana cream pie was good. I’d recommend sharing a dish and dessert with someone because it was way too much food for just me (not complaining!) I would come back to OKC just to visit this diner again!
Food was super on point. Thank you for delivering on what is and will always be one of my favorite restaurants. Good job. Especially to the cook. Give him a raise!!!
I don’t usually write reviews, but I came into black bear today from out of town and they were amazing!! It was extremely busy but they got to us quickly and everyone seemed to be working together great. Our server was amazing. We even had a manager come and check tables too! Would definitely recommend!! We will be back!!
This Place is the Best!!!! We would give them more ⭐️ if we could. We always enjoy coming here. Food is delicious/hot , the ☕️ is unbelievable. We had to come back and eat here again. They were full of happy/hungry customers. We enjoyed our breakfast/coffee. One of the managers, Frank came by and checked on us. We told him we ❤️ BLACK BEAR DINER. I encourage everyone to give them a try, you won’t regret it.
