The garage is a place where they have 1 or 2 really good things and the other stuff is good, but it is not an all time favorite. Their queso fries are the best fries I have ever had! The burger was good, but I wasn't wolfing it down like I loved it. I only have one complaint. The workers don't seem to know what they're doing. We went in and were getting 3 kids meals for the kids which have always come with drinks. The cashier said we had to pay for them so we said okay. Then they weren't even on the receipt when we got the drinks! The lady giving cups was like whatever and handed us drink cups anyway. They need to get their act together. Otherwise I enjoy eating here.
The burgers are great. The complaint is the cost.This is another restaurant where you order at the counter so that wait staff is not required, yet before you get your food, you are asked to give a tip. It's offensive that we are asked (expected?) to tip after I have stood in line to order.Then we purchased a mixed drink. The menu said $7.99. The bill was $9.25 (due mainly to the Oklahoma 13.5% liquor tax). Here is the offense: the drink came in an 8 oz. cup. It was half full of ice, and it had half of a lemon taking up space, too. So we effectively paid $9.25 for about 4 or 5 oz. of drink.Restaurants often like to split out the cost of the Oklahoma tax on alcohol as if to let you know who you can blame for the high cost of your drink. They should still consider that they have control over the base cost of the drink AND how much drink they give you for your money.Between their insistence that the cashiers behind the cash register are owed a tip and the paltry size of their fare, we will not likely be coming back.But those burgers are so good. :(
Great food, but absolutely terrible bar service. We’ve been coming here for years, and we always recommend the garage for their food, but I feel like the yellow numbers don’t really work... In order for them to be effective, the bartenders would actually have to come out from behind the bar.Also, I was super excited about the new lettuce cups, until they arrived. The size of the lettuce makes it impossible to pick up and eat. On the menu, it’s multiple romaine lettuce pieces and is made to resemble a taco. However, I had to get the manager to bring me more lettuce because I couldn’t even pick them up. It was skinny, and weak… kinda false advertisementI will say they were very accommodating and brought me more lettuce, but in my opinion, especially with this being a Hal Smith restaurant, I don’t think I should even have to ask
The burger was okay but the fries were cold. We sent them back and they still came back cold and in little pieces. They were not good
Their fries were horrible! Cold, asked for hot ones, and they were still cold. Plus, we got the hard nubs instead of hot fries. And my burger was not what I asked. I will not go back!
The Garage is really close to our house, so we visit pretty often. Everything is great: burgers, fries, salads, fish, chips and queso, drinks. My husband loves that they have a childhood favorite of his- grape Fanta. The thunderita is my favorite drink here.
This is my favorite burger place, hands down! The queso fries are delightful and I love the fact that you can add an impossible patty to any burger.
I like the atmosphere. It's a fun place. The food has always been decent, but they took the grilled chicken sandwich and the dinner salad off the menu. Unfortunately, I used to be a regular but will no longer be going bc of that.
Food is so good! Service is also amazing, price is reasonable, not cheap, but reasonable for the portions, I would highly recommend this place!
Fantastic hamburgers. And they have something for everyone here, even beer and spirits.
