We waited for over 30 min to get 2 orders of chicken fajitas (Wed night special) & they were brought out without tortillas. There were only 5 tables of customers including us & 2 of them already had their food. I asked for a small plate to make my fajita on also as I ordered no rice & she brought out a big bowl of beans instead of a plate with beans on it. No problem. Except it took too long to come back with the tortillas & then no plate. We have been driving 20 miles to eat at this On the Border for over 20 years & I’ve never written them a bad review before. They were understaffed. I only saw 1 cook, 1 bartender, 1 waitress & 1 other employee there. They had seriously better get their act together & hire staff or they’ll be out of business.
Took my mother here for lunch the other day and we had a very disappointing experience. This place is clearly way understaffed and inexperienced. We were on the bar side where only one employee was waiting all tables and the bar. It was not packed by any means. She was unable to deliver timely service as well as deliver correct drinking or food orders. The food quality here was descent enough which is why I didn't give one star. But even with getting the incorrect food, it seemed illogical to wait another half hour to get a corrected meal. Unfortunately we will not be returning to this location. Luckily, there is more than enough Mexican eateries on this intersection alone.
Not indicative of the On the Birder franchise in any way.Booth seats are filthy, torn, full of crumbs, and flat. Feels like sitting on vinyl coated cement. The food is bleh, lacks presentation, and has small portions. The chips are old and stale...bagged store variety is, sadly, better. Salsa, however, was very nice and flavorful.Overall not worth coming back to. For the many locations we have been to, this was the worst. The wooden tables and chairs are dirty, wobbly, and in need of tightening or repairs. The wood supports in the booths is cracked, broken, and missing chunks. The interior looks like OTB forgot about it, then, realizing their neglect, sold it to the lowest bidder. That current owner is not interested in upkeep. The painting is chipped, faded, and worn away everywhere. The glass in the walls is filthy and scratched. None of the neon is operating.Interior decor isn't everything, but a lack of care and maintenance in it is very telling.
The blonde manager honestly needs fired. My waitress, however, was Peaches. She was the sweetest waitress I've had at any restaurant. She is the only reason I didn't give 1 star. We waited for 30 minutes to get seated, and they sat another table that had been there for 5 minutes before us. Most of the girls were rude, but Peaches was a gem. She was doing everything she could possibly get everyone their orders on time. She was the only waitress who was visibly working as hard as possible. I would give her 5 stars, but everything other than her was terrible.
Possibly the worst food I've eaten. Service was terrible. Floors and table tops were filthy. AC was blasting at 60 degrees and I asked no less than four times for it to be adjusted. Bathroom was filthy and stunk of urine. Service was also terrible. Overpriced. Under delivered. Will not ever return and have no idea why this place is still open for business.
17 minutes to be acknowledged to be seated by blonde manager (who couldn’t care less) and another 14 minutes to have a waitress come to table. If I could give zero stars that would be more appropriate. Restaurant lot and inside damn near deserted. Should have been a clue.
Was never greeted. When we finally sat down at the bar 2 employees were more interested in having a conversation than serving us. We left after sitting and not being attended to for 5minutes.
There was a sign on the door when we walked in that they would be closing early due to staffing shortages. Completely understand with everything going on. We sat at the bar and had great service! I wish I would have gotten their names because those two ladies behind the bar were busting their butts! However when it came to the food, ?. My husband ordered two cheese enchiladas. They were about the size of taquitos and looked like they had been sitting under the heat lamp for about an hour. The sauce on top looked burned. I had a beef burrito and it was OK. He didn't send it back....I would have....he just wanted to leave. We haven't been in there since before Covid. There might be a reason.
