We redeemed 10,000 points from the Open Table system and the restaurant had NO CLUE how to handle this. Kyoto was wonderful - but their interface to Open Table was abysmal. The Open Table people should instruct participating restaurants about the redemption process. Very disappointed on the part of Open Table.
Our sushi was good and the server was friendly. It was a Sunday at dinner time so we were expecting it to be busy and have a wait but were pleasantly surprised when we walked in to see many empty tables and only 4 parties seated. Unfortunately we waited over an hour for 4 sushi rolls. From what I could see my best assessment is that there was only one server who was in charge of seating, serving and all other front room activities. One person making sushi, I saw 2 others coming in and out the kitchen doors. 45 minutes after ordering we were told they were making our sushi, took about 15 more to get it. By the time we left it was getting busier and people seemed to be getting food faster.
Such a great place. I think many people would give a lower rating because the service was slower than normal but I still feel like they deserve five stars. Many of the staff is new (as of today) & doing a great job! The food is AMAZING! Highly recommend the udon noodles. Scallops are great. Sushi is awesome. Even David Payne eats here! ;) One of our favorite places in Edmond.
I feel like since we took time and gather such a large party someone should let us know if the air conditioner is broken or not. This this is for our comfort. We are paying customers. Again a large party as well. But after asking about the air conditioning, one of the servers, not ours bc she was fine,, was very border line rude when we ask if the air can be turned up. No other option or care to ask for a fan on us was offered. So after silverware and other basic necessities were we're asked for and not present, we finally got our food. The presentation was nice but we ate while sweating. I know who the owners were and not once did any management come and check out our one table. Or ask us if we needed anything extra did anything extra, management didn't care if they were restaurant customers or employees or employees were suffering on 1 of the hottest days, nonetheless busiest.
Coming from a family who has owned restaurants and bars for the past 50 years I can honestly say I have never not tipped until today. Hot fish, brought sashimi rather than nigiri. Never once did server bother to check in to see how our food was. Did not bother to ask why I did not touch my food nor why the other party did not eat their food. I did not make a fuss. These folks will never see a penny of my money again. HOT sushi??? Worst food and SERVICE in all of Edmond. Be warned.
It was great! The food was wonderful as was the atmosphere and our waitress!!
