2 stars ONLY because the woman I spoke to on the phone was very nice, understanding, and apologetic. But the way you fix a mistake in the kitchen IS NOT by dumping a ton of Parmesan cheese over the parts that are burnt in an attempt to make it look less burnt, you remake it for the customer even if that means admitting your mistake and asking the customer to wait. Completely inappropriate kitchen behavior that has me questioning what other basic mistakes are being made, because if you don’t care about the food you are putting in a customers hands, you probably don’t care if dishes are clean, hands are washed, surfaces are disinfected, or any of the other basic kitchen tasks. If you don’t care enough to put the best food out possible, I doubt you care about anything at all that’s going on in the kitchen- and not only is that disturbing, it’s dangerous. That’s how foodborne illnesses and contaminations occur.
This was quite an…. Experience. The food was good and my son really enjoyed the thin cheese pizza. All of the food came out separately and I didn’t get the bread with my pasta until I was almost done. I love small mom and pop shops but the cleanliness of this place was really concerning. It smelled of sewer or gas and the smell was so overpowering it was hard to enjoy the food. It was a place I wanted to get out of as soon as possible. Getting the food to go would’ve been more enjoyable.
My husband and I were looking for a different eatery and google directed us to Picnic Pizza Italian Eatery. We were uncertain what we were getting into, but WOW! A huge diamond in the rough! The chef salad was FRESH and very good. The thin pizza was AMAZING!! The crust was awesome and allowed all the flavors of the Italian sausage, pepperoni and mushrooms to come through with the deliciously melted cheese! Our waitress was nice and prompt and made good suggestions. I'm sorry I don't recall her name. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who is from Italy, who was very gracious. It just sealed the deal that this place is the BEST PLACE TO GO FOR ITALIAN CUISINE!! We will continue to make the drive from Canal Winchester to Zanesville for food (especially pizza) gladly!! -The Brewer's
I usually take out pizza and always good! But we went in to eat one night about HR before they closed and the food was cold or warm. The jalapeno poppers were luke warm and the pasta that John ordered was cold but sauce was hot. Might of been just been an off night. I may go in one more time to see. But pizza is ALWAYS good when I take out.
Great food, precious lil pizza place, gotta love little joints w homemade recipes
Enjoyed a fantastic Lunch with quick and helpful service. 10/10
Very Delicious pizza. I’ve tried a few others in town and this is the best!
I moved to Zanesville from the east coast over 20 years ago, I don't order pizza or pasta from anywhere else, if you've ever been to New York you would know this is authentic
Absolutely the best pizza I’ve ever had!!
This was my first visit. I've seen it for years, though. This will not be my last. The Calzone was made right then, it was not premade. It was delicious - cheese, spinach and pepperoni. Cannoli for desert.
