Sherry Tsing & her husband owned this place from the start and the food was always excellent. They retired & sold 2-3 years ago and the food went downhill. It was still good but not as good as Sherry & her husband Goofee's. Not anymore. I don't know if there's another new owner but the food is absolutely the best; even better than the original (sorry Sherry). Everything is now perfectly seasoned and even the fried rice is cooked perfectly to al dente. Last night we had a simple dish, MooGoo Gaipan, that was easily the best we've ever had. Lots of garlic in a mild white sauce, tender chicken, crisp vegetables, and that perfect fried rice. The restaurant is always spotlessly clean, service top notch, food prepared quickly and to order. This is easily the best Chinese restaurant we've ever been to; and we've been to them all in this area and when we travel. HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.
Excellent service. The young lady at the counter was helpful and attentive to my dietary restrictions. Food was fresh and flavorful. Prices are reasonable for food quality and portion size. The only thing I could be critical about would be labeling for allergy restrictions on the menu. (Shellfish, vegetarian/vegan, gluten free etc) Many restaurants in major cities are keen to this and it helps the customer make the right choices in case of a language barrier. However this does not take away from the experience. Great restaurant.
Orange chicken is garbage I call to have it replace told me they don't care no one complain I didn't ask for my money back I ask to replace my order they told me no I ask for egg rolls they gave me spring rolls ask them do I have to go throu my credit card she said I don't care what you do will ear at this real cat and dog place again don't believe try them ur self imperial in boardman never ever will are anyone I know eat there again look like it came out garbage
Food was ok. Wanted to upcharge me $5 for noodles instead of rice. Beef was very chewy and didn't taste like real beef.
Some of the best Chinese food in Boardman. Always hot and fresh. Their meat is good quality and tastes great.
Food was very good. Sweet and sour chicken w/ white rice.
A restaurant that puts a lot of care into their food and has mastered their staples.Outside the restaurant are lovely trees and animal sculptures. The door is adorned with lovely patterns and the entryway is gorgeous. I was there to pick up a takeout order and they did not mind that I was in my Batman onesie. They were so kind and even included some custard tarts on the house. The order consisted of vegetable fried rice, vegetable lo mein and fried dumplings. The dumplings and especially the sauce were nice and savory. The fried rice was phenomenal. Perfectly cooked rice with fresh veggies that I couldn’t get enough of. Similarly the lo mein had a wonderful texture and was nicely sauced. Everything was great as leftovers the next day.Make sure you walk across the street and admire the animal sculptures, particularly the rabbit.
I’ve ordered from this restaurant many times, for the most part the food has been good. Today I received my dinner way to spicy, this is the same dish I had ordered many times before so I know how hot it usually is but today it was like someone had accidentally dropped the hot pepper oil In my dish. I couldn’t even eat it. Now I’m not one that normally complains but I have spent more than a few dollars here over the years and I I just wanted my dinner to be edible. I brought it back and all they did was run it under water and gave it back to me!!!!!! Disgusting ?
The food is either amazing - I mean downright amazing/the best Chinese food - or soggy/oily. There is no in between. It feels like the quality of the food is directly correlated to either how recently they cleaned their deep frier/equipment or whenever their oil is the right temperature when they prepare your food.Otherwise lovely staff.
It's a tough battle who is the number one spot of Chinese food in this area. House of China & Golden Hunan are both solid contenders. If you like Hunan Chicken or anything with brown garlic sauce, this place is king.Their General Tso's Chicken with white meat(extra $$$) is solid, but sometimes they overcook it. For the best Gen Tso's I'd try Golden Hunan or Golden Hunan.
