My wife and I went to Cafe 422 in Boardman, Oh today (May 7, 2022) at 12:00. We walked in as soon as the door opened. When we entered there was a man on the phone and when he got off the phone, I told him we had 2 for lunch today. He didn't say good morning, good evening or anything. He just grabbed a couple menu's and took us to our table and said our waiter will be with us in a minute. In just a few seconds our waiter (Destiny A) brought us some water and straws. She requested to take our order in a kind and professional manner and we both ordered our lunch. I did ask Destiny if bread came with my spaghetti order and she said she would be bringing out some bread in a few minutes. About 5 minutes later Destiny came back to our table as well as others tables and said the bread is going to be late, not sure the exact reason. About 5 or 6 minutes later our food was delivered to us and we was told the bread is still not ready. We told Destiny that we know it's not her fault, she was doing a great job. My wife and I both finished our lunch meals, but still no bread. So we asked Destiny to speak to the Manager. Destiny came back in a few seconds and said the Manager would be here is few a minute. Less than 30 seconds later, a man (the same man that didn't speak to us at the door and seated us) stopped by our table and said he was the Manager (No name was offered). My wife ask him about the bread and he said he is sorry we are very busy and the bread was put in the oven late and could he offer us a dessert to make up for it and my wife agreed to accept a brownie. He didn't offer to reduce the bill for not having any bread, especially with spaghetti, he just walked off. A couple minutes later Destiny brought the brownie and said she was sorry. My wife and I both told her, it's not her fault at all, she done a great job. I do think the Manager (whatever his name is) could and should have been more welcoming, polite, and professional for sure. The food was ok, but we have had better food at better prices from other restaurants in the area. We do not intend on going back to this restaurant.
I hadn't eaten here in about 2yrs so look forward to go with friends. Was excited to see they still had a beet salad. But nowhere close to previous roasted Beet salad, Beets were canned not roasted, goat cheese very little sprinkled, one piece mushroom, no red onion, had to ask for extra salad dressing. My GF had order w chicken and agreed. The cup wedding soup was OK, small too narrow cup, though filled with lots of stuff. but seem to miss on flavor, I order Cream Brûlée to go and didn't check till got home, The crust was thick BLACK topping I had to throw away it was pure charcoal. The pudding part was bland anyone hear of vanilla or almond flavoring.. Will I go back on my own No. Waitress and Hostess were very nice . Nice inside just sad food was not anywhere up to what it should be. My suggestion cut down the 3 different menus and make sure food is prepared right.
We always have a great experience at Cafe 422! Food, service, and atmosphere are great and it’s family-friendly. It’s nice to have good places to go with the kids!
Went here for dinner with the family and I was not blown away. The food was not that good. The service we received from the waitress was very good though that's why they are getting 3 stars instead of 2. Overall assessment it's a bit pricey for bland food also the Italian dressing is gross stay away
Loved our dinners and especially liked John Reese set up and playing in the main dining room.Such a lovely, enjoyable evening ?❤

Maybe I don’t get gourmet Italian but this is as good as anybody but that’s kind of a “so what”. So many choices in Youngstown that this doesn’t stand out.
TERRIBLE BARTENDERS!!!! (BOTH WOMEN) I WENT IN BY MYSELF (A WOMAN), TOOK A 15 MINUTE WAIT TO GET MY FIRST DRINK AND A 15 MINUTE WAIT TO GET MY SECOND DRINK!!!!! I PREFER MEN BARTENDERS!! THEY PAY MORE ATTENTION TO WOMEN AS CUSTOMERS!!!!!
Food was delicious
Reasonable prices for Excellent food. Owner was engaged and waitress was friendly. My filet was instantly in my top 10. If not top 5. Kudos to the chef tonight. Not sure it's always so good, but if so...I'll be back indefinitely.
