Excellent food and wine. Dinner was excellent. Focaccia with roasted peepers amazing. Crab cake was one of the best I’ve had. Someone in the kitchen knows what they are doing!
Finally made it, first timers celebrating over dinner. The place and service was great. The food however, was not great. Considering the prices of items, I was amazed at the taste and portion size. Filet was burned on each side - trying to cook to temp request…butterfly the thick filet so you don’t just charbroil it. Gross. Not to mention the over salting of the items. Bottom line, not that great and dissatisfied.
Terrific food as always. But to our surprise, yesterday's bill included a 3.5% fee for using a credit card.Such an obvious money grab from what we thought was a great place to go & enjoy a great meal & drinks.Plus, the first notice we received that we would be charged this fee was when receiving the receipt to sign. Oh yeah, they did use a yellow highlighter on the receipt to explain the increase in our bills.Sneaky son of a gun. Will decrease our frequency of visiting this place.Customer service took a nosedive!
Had the shrimp salad. Must say 4 shrimp on a pile of lettuce for $17.00 and the shrimp were not cleaned. Mud vein still on shrimp..UGH! Service was slow. Asked for some bread and it took 20 minutes to get it. I will say the onion soup was amazing. Better places to eat in Youngstown I am sure.
There was mold on my $15 cheesecake ? ? ?. They were supposed to come back up and see/collect it. I'm so disgusted. I hope the throw the others out. Definitely an issue with quality control.
Where do I begin: booked the Mezzanine Room for breakfast buffet at Bistro 1907 and meeting for 22 at least 2 months in advance for 14th of May, confirming three times including the 13th of May speaking directly to the hotel's General Manager, Steve. Morning of the buffet breakfast @ Bistro 1907 and meeting (90 minutes before the start), I was called by a young lady who told me that the Bistro 1907's chef was a "no-show" so the restaurant is closed and they would need to cancel my event. It is not that easy to cancel when people are already on the Turnpike and freeways. I hurriedly contacted several attendees that were in route. Doubletree assistant managers attempted to assist by calling the restaurant owner who, of course, did not answer his cell phone. Doubletree managers then called me and told me to keep calling the owner; they went home (smh). I called the Bistro 1907's owner a minimum of 10 times while in route on the Turnpike to no avail. Upon my arrival, the Doubletree front desk attempted to sell the excuse of "the restaurant is not affiliated with the hotel." The Doubletree franchise owner or Hilton Corporate obviously has a vendor/lease contract with this restaurant to provide services or they would not be on property. I was told by Doubletree employees that the Bistro 1907 has done this before; I observed numerous Doubletree overnight guests who were angry that Bistro 1907 was closed and checked out. The Doubletree, at minimum, should have quickly pivoted to Plan B if Bistro 1907 has done this previously and ordered some type of breakfast catering from a delivery service. The remaining Doubletree assistant manager, Tony, the only person who resembled a ROCK STAR, provided a small conference room and set up water and coffee for our group since some attendees were still expected. Even though I was furious I called Panera in Austintown and explained my predicament. The Panera manager quickly tossed hot and cold breakfast food in a bag and drove it downtown Youngstown in time for breakfast and meeting. I came out of pocket to Panera over $200 when the original plan was for all attendees to pay for the Bistro 1907 breakfast buffet before the meeting. The Bistro 1907 owner nor the Doubletree general manager have yet to call me with an apology. How much worse this could have been if I were a bride with a wedding party expecting to have breakfast at Bistro 1907 before a wedding. This entire situation has been reported to Hilton Corporate Offices.
Tried Bistro 1907 when in town fir a competition. The service was great, food was superbly prepared, and atmosphere was great. Will definitely visit next time in Youngstown.
Food & Service were great. Friendly atmosphere.
Great service and great food. So happy to see many plant based options on a local menu. This makes it one of our go-to places to eat and we love bringing out of town guests here to show off downtown! Here is the vegan Caesar and vegan lasagna.
This was the first time my wife and I dined at Bistro 1907. We sat at the bar and had some nice conversation with some people who frequent the restaurant regularly and they, along with the bar tenders, made us feel welcome and we felt like we had been here many times. The food and service were delightful. The atmosphere is terrific and very relaxing. We will definitely return to this downtown Youngstown gem.
