First time to try this place out, just wanted a beer, a decent sandwich, and to get back home in a reasonable time. Check, Check, and CHECK! Not a big crowd for a Saturday evening, BUT not a quiet family restaurant. My 5 star rating is because this place is exactly what it should be… It is for all intents and purposes a neighborhood bar. And that is not a bad thing! We will be back, because it is convenient, the food was reasonably priced and good, and the service was great!

On April 8th myself, my husband, and our son stopped at the bistro. My husband and I ordered a beer. Our son was talking with people he knew. The manager suddenly stormed out of the kitchen in a rage and told us our son was not allowed to be there (he's 21) and we would all have to leave. We asked why and he stormed off, we continued to drink our beers and asked the bartenders if they knew what was going on, they both replied no. Other peoole at the bar told us the manager has issues. There were no problems and we were talking with other customers that our son knew and introduced us to. The manager again stormed over to us and told us we had to leave or he was calling 911. My husband asked why as we werent doing anything, the manager called 911 as he was storming around the bar in a rage and we still did not get an explanation for why we were being kicked out. After calling 911 the manager came directly up to us and told us to get out we didnt have to pay for our beers. We were treated so disrespectfully and still was not told why we had to leave. My husband and i decided to politely get up and leave with our son. As we were leaving, people at the bar again told us the manager has issues and that they didnt understand why we were being told to leave. Someone needs to address the manager of 31 bistro, he has no manager skills or respect for customers and the staff.

This IS the place! We called ahead to pick up dinner after work. We got a plain dog, bistro dog, 1/2 turkey 31 pocket, 1/2 cheeseburger wrap, fries and sampler. Perfect staff. Perfect atmosphere. Beautiful interior. Complete with friendly regulars at the bar. "Best hotdog ever" (per hot dog enthusiast) and I loved the turkey pocket. If you are around the old Hawkins market, make this your stop.
We’ve never had a bad meal there. The beer is nice and cold and the people are friendly. We love Liz at the bar. Always a good time!
