First if all Abigail, who gave this place 1 star. You've got the wrong place. This place doesn't have sushi or Pad Thai!We live in Dublin but when in Westerville, we sometimes stop at New China Express on the way home. The food we've gotten here has always been really good. We usually get a couple of appetizers, and always get the Orange Chicken, sometimes fried rice, and generally one spicy entree, like Kung Pao chicken. We've never been disappointed. This location is the original location, on Maxtown Rd. It's better than the Sancus Rd location.
Hi! I’m excited to say that New China Express is my new favorite! Very delicious and fast. Prices and flavors are on point. I got so much food for under $12. I Ordered the Pan Fried Noodles with chicken, pork, shrimp and veggies. They include a big side of white or fried rice as well! I can never decide between noodles and rice, or the meats, so this dish is my new favorite! Bamboo shoots, snow peas, onions, green peppers, garlic mushrooms, water chestnuts, and Napa cabbage. The meats are SO tender and juicy and the shrimp isn’t overcooked and chewy. HUGE deal to those of us that love ourselves lol.About to try the egg roll... Right off the bat the sweet & sour sauce has a nice consistency and flavor. It isn’t gelatinous like some. The egg roll itself is okay. I won’t rave over it but it’s okay. I will try something else next time I visit. I’ll also try the egg rolls again to see if it was a one off.Now for the side of fried rice... Definitely needs soy sauce, Tamari, or liquid aminos if you’re not into a blander fried rice. I like it the way it is and will consume some like it is and then add sauce later. Yum yum sauce and ginger sauce would also be good on this. The rice isn’t hard or too saturated with soy sauce. Will definitely be frequenting this place to see what other entrees are delightful!
Shrimp tasted moldy. They had a 6-7 year old working the cash register. I’ve ordered from them 3 times. Once I was given the wrong order, once they lost my order, and once they got it right. Food is normally good but their system is poor
I’ve tried orange chicken from many places, but New China is hands down the best I’ve had. Been going here for years for love it the same as when I first tried it. Plus awesome staff and delicious food all around!! Would give 6 stars if I could.
Fast and cheap! Food is good for the price and amount. Great place to get your Chinese food craving.
Always consistently good and the portion of food for the $ is on it ! See for yourself!
I'm opinionated about Chinese restaurants. Have high standards. Food must be fresh, tastes awesome, and affordable. This has the best Chinese food in North Columbus.
Tied (3 ways) for my favorite Chinese Restaurant. I come here for the Almond Boneless Chicken (War Su Gai)
We have tried two NCE locations (in Sunbury and Westervillle) and their food is hot and fast but, they are just incredibly stingy when it comes to matching protein portions (shrimp, beef, chicken) to their vegetable portions. You end up with a bowl of random vegetables in a bland sauce that is just all too thin and light on personality or “pop”. My wife’s shrimp Lo mein was huge but, again, tons of soggy salty noodles with just a few small shrimp. I even tried their Gang Pang wings just for something different and the breading was soggy and the sauce, again, had zero spice level. Meh. Good in a pinch on a rainy Tuesday maybe but, just not a destination restaurant - in our experience.
Large meal from here is very large .I got humane vegHe got beef mushroomDog got chic fried rice very tasty
