Absolutely Delicious BBQ. Was on a trip for work and this place was recommended by locals. Lived up to they hype. Was very good, service was fast, excellent quality and a nice atmosphere. We got there around 11:30 and you could tell that the lunch crown funneled in around 12. Place filled up quick and I can definitely see why. Hope to be back in area in the future to enjoy it again!
Absolutely LOVED THIS PLACE!!! Everything was FANTASTIC from beginning to end! I have NEVER been in a place where they take care of you like this place does from start to finish! Very friendly, very clean! We dined in, no waitresses per say but the staff came and checked on to make sure we had everything we needed. We traveled from Dayton to visit family and this was the best BBQ we've had. Meat, tender, seasoned and moist. Sides were diverse, tasty and fresh. We'll be back!
I found this place on my travels back from Indiana to PA. The only regret I have is not sitting inside to eat this incredible chopped brisket sandwich. I didn't even get a pic to drool over afterwards. It ranks damn-near the top for brisket sandwiches that I've had. Perfect grilled bun. Perfect amount of slaw. Perfect amount of sauce. The portion was excellent too. If I had to be picky about something with it, I'd say the brisket was a little on the dry side, but it had amazing flavor. Really wish I could experience more from the menu - especially the ice cream which I hear is amazing too. Really friendly staff as well. *Another note* it was PACKED on a Friday afternoon at 1:30. That says something. Will definitely be returning on the next trip out to Indiana.
A solid five stars for the slab of ribs. Cockeye has a strong local reputation and it is well deserved. Our ribs were perfectly smoked. Tender, moist but not overdone. The tomato-based sauce was sweetish but had a nice kick in the aftertaste. At 11am there was a line and a 20 min wait. There is a dine in seating area. The Google page says no delivery but there was provision to order ahead. I was very happy with the food.
We took friends to Cockeye because we were so happy with the food last Father’s Day. This time we dined in their small dining room. Nothing fancy, but had a roll of paper towels on the tables which is a good sign for eating bbq! I had the Mess (again) and wasn’t disappointed. Love the Mac and Cheese, and the pork. My hubby’s ribs were very meaty, excellent beans and collard greens. We did get some to go boxes so we could visit the creamery. Picking one flavor was difficult so we’ll have to go back!
Loved the BBQ and Creamery! It was our first visit out and all the employees created us upon arrival and genuinely seemed happy. Very casual, and our food came out fast! Love the turkey, brisket and corn casserole! Must try if you are in the neighborhood!
This place is amazing and absolutely packed on a weekend night, we went there planning on eating in and decided to order online instead. While we waited we had their ice cream (which is separate from the restaurant itself) and I was excited that they had a dairy-free option that was different than the usual sorbet or cookies and cream or mint chocolate chip, but it was delicious and definitely homemade! When I went in to grab our order, the owner greeted me and took great care in making me feel welcome. The food itself was amazing, and we will be back again!
Always good! I usually get carry out and my order is always perfect. Can't go wrong with a mess plate, and the hush puppies are my favorite. Be sure to grab some of that good ice cream from the creamery too!
Consulted the gluten free menu online beforehand (bonus points for this) however they did not make my order gluten free as requested. I specifically said I was gluten free and no hush puppies. Imagine my surprise to find my turkey and brisket on top of bread, with hush puppies. They fixed the order (probably just threw the bread away) and everything was fine. I complimented the owner on an enjoyable meal, wanting to make sure they were aware of mistake she basically brushed it off saying “well we fixed it, didn’t we?” If we had taken this food home as originally ordered I would have been extremely disappointed.
Excellent. Excellent. Excellent. I mean seriously. A great experience. Only adjustment should be to address the cold draft that comes from sitting by the windows. Excellent food and service. The owner is nice. He comes out to interact with us patrons. Just a great atmosphere. I had the angry chicken sandwich. I am not a chicken breast person. I’m not a slaw person. I thought the chicken was going to be unfavorable because it wasn’t shredded down the way I expected it to be, but boy was I pleasantly surprised! It was so good! The bbq sauce ??? should be sold in stores!!! I will be purchasing a bottle of my own. I called my mom as soon as I left. It’s less than a mile from my house and I plan to spend more money there. And the prices?! Listen. You don’t get more fair than this place. Do yourself a favor and just visit. It doesn’t disappoint.
