staff is polite and incredibly friendly and helpful. i have an issue sometimes with food getting stuck in my throat and that happened here. every staff person I came in contact with while trying to deal with the uncomfortable and very embarrassing situation was so nice. prior to the issue, the food was amazing and service was fast! our waitress was very accommodating. if you're looking for a friendly place to go with great service and food that's almost to die for ? I recommend shortys! and while I didn't finish the ribs on account of my body trying to kill me for eating them the first time, the first thing I did when I could finally swallow again was eat the rest of my baked potato and salad.
Walking into the restaurant you see this big beautiful fireplace in the middle. Loved that. The staff were warming and our staff check on us perfectly. The restrooms were surprisingly clean. The Men’s smelled like air freshener or something and the Women’s smelled like baby powder.( as I was told). I ordered the spliced chicken with Mac n cheese and beans. Let me tell you, the best Mac n cheese I’ve ever had in Ohio. I’m from Louisiana so they didn’t taste like what I’m used to and they were perfect. Just the right balance of sauces and favors I’m telling you. Something happened with the managers on the night we went so the restaurant closed earlier than expected. I didn’t get a chance to eat my chicken until I drove back to Columbus and warm it up. Even still, it also was really juicy and great. I wish I had the opportunity to try the dessert as well. I will most def go back.

I love Shorty’s! One of the best BBQ places I have had. It’s awesome that they are Celiac friendly and can accommodate me for more than just a stupid salad! I have never had a bad meal there; although, my pulled pork was more fatty than usual today. It still was good though. My daughter LOVED her baked potato! Most times the service is slow but it has been my observation that it’s always something out of servers control. EVERY TIME I have been there, my poor server has a table from hell! Yes, I used to wait tables so I know one when I see it. I’m pretty sure that was the issue today, not our servers fault by any means. I just want to thank Moe for his service today! You did a wonderful job for us! ?
Just what the doctor ordered. Wait staff was attentive and friendly, which is always a great way to start a meal. I had the pork brisket and is was yummy for my tummy! The fries was fresh made and the Mac N Cheese was cheesey in a good way. Two thumbs up to Shorty!!
My husband and I stopped at Shorty’s on Sunday evening for a quick and yummy dinner before heading out of town. We were seating immediately right by their outdoor fireplace which was wonderful! Our server Randy was awesome! He was attentive and got us our drinks and food quickly. Our food was awesome! BBQ was delicious and the salad was fabulous. We were in and out quickly and were treated as family the whole time! Thanks for a fantastic dinner and fantastic service!
First time going here 3/2022. Taste buds were sizzling!!! Great food! Great servers!I do this quite often and then regret it...with the intentions of taking pics, when the food comes and looks so appetizing, I want to dive right in and eat. So, forgot to take pics.Our server greeted us with a smile, was polite, informative and attentive. The server knew at what point she soul check back with us. It was perfect service.We had the 1/2 order of the ultimate. 1/2 slab of ribs, pulled pork, BBQ 1/2 chicken, brisket, 3 sides, and corn bread.They offered two BBQ sauces for the meal, hot and sweet. I liked both, but experimented by mixing the two together (3/4 sweet to 1/4 hot was the right mix for me).Still too much to eat at one sitting and had remaining food boxed up for us.It was an awesome dining experience!Yum ?
Shorty’s True American Roadhouse in Toledo. Solid barbecue! Ribs, sausage, onion strings and corn muffin. My buddy had a snickers cobbler. I had a couple bites. Yum
We ordered a small platter with ribs, pulled pork and chicken. The ribs were inedible. They were hard and dry as leather! We asked for more pulled pork because that was quite tasty. Service was slow but I think the waiter just wasn't very experienced, he was very nice though.
Friendly staff and lots of good barbecue options. Only issue was my wife trying to get their ribeye steak...they did not cook it correctly for either of the 2 attempts. She ended up getting something else. Everything else was really good though.
