In my mind when you look up the definition of diner in the dictionary there should just be a picture of Schmuckers. The atmosphere of the diner it's just perfect, there is a hum about the place from the kitchen to the servers dancing about the tightly packed tables. It's loud but not in an obnoxious way. They have a big menu serving both breakfast lunch and dinner items and there has yet to be something we have tried that wasn't delicious. The prices are low for the quality . My wife and I eat at Schmuckers any chance we get
This place was electric. I sat down at the counter and saw the whole show going down. They have an old fashion diner feel to the place and the ladies behind the counter are all rushing around pumping food out of the kitchen. Wimpy Burger and Banana Pie were both great. I even bought a T shirt and the bill was only $25.
1st time here....great service, portions were more than I expected and fish was delicious. Staff was genuinely friendly and prompt.Brought out the ol' skool for a nice evening cruise with my lady!
Saw and ad for this place and immediately wanted to check it out. We love old fashioned counter-top diners. So glad we did. The staff was friendly, welcoming and prompt. We both had burgers and onion rings. Burgers were well cooked, juicy and tasty. Onion rings were good too. But the pie was the star of the show! I had the Dutch apple and my wife had the strawberry. Both were delicious and very generous portions. Both were full of fruit, whole strawberry’s! All in all a great experience. So glad we saw the ad in the Toledo tourist book. Was a wonderful experience. And great pie.
Wow. This is the worst meal I've had in a long time. I ordered the chicken and Biscuits and it looked like someone already ate it. The Biscuits were flavorless. The chicken was gross at best. Ended up eating a second dinner because this food was inedible. Heck. No.
1948s restaurant set-up. Got a warm welcome from waitress. Foods was very tasty. I had a BLT sandwich and Chili soup - Better than any Fast food places. Chicken tender was crispy and ranch seems homemade. Restaurant was at capacity at peak hours due to popularity. Must try if you are passing through Toledo often. Pies are fantastic - My kid enjoyed blueberry pie.
I was crossing by this place and thought to stop by with my friend. At the beginning I had doubt that how their food could be. But when I went inside and saw people enjoying their food, gave me a sense that this could be a food place. To be honest I liked the way they have kept the interior with old and vintage style and have preserved everything in a great way. Their food is so good which gave me a real taste of home cooked dinner. A nice place and you should try it.
Diner atmosphere, friendly waitress, excellent piebut my hot roast beef was dry. My gentleman friend got French fries that were the best I've tasted! Prices reasonable, parking lot available.
Atmosphere , wait staff makes you feel very comfortable like a old style diner but with modern conveniences . Prices are extremely reasonable for the value you receive. Pie selection is out of this world. I would recommend Schmuckers hands down if you are looking for a great meal and a very reasonable old fashioned diner experience .
My parents have gone to Schmuckers on their birthdays for years. They know the owners. Today I took my father, who is 96, there for breakfast and to get his free piece of ‘birthday’ pie. His birthday was Sunday but they were not open. We drove there Monday, but it was very busy and people were waiting outside. Being 96, my father was unable to wait outside for a table to open up. We went back this morning for breakfast and he was denied his free pie because the ‘rules’ state you had to get it on Monday. Needless to say he was very disappointed and I for one could not understand why they couldn’t make an exception under the circumstances. Had the owner been there this would not have happened. I thought this was a nice family place but after today’s experience I have changed my mind. I mean really, they can’t give a 96 year old man a free piece of pie?!
