So yummy food is good service is great very friendly I recommend this restaurant if you're from out of town and hungry for some home cooked meals .
The atmosphere was nice, and people there were very friendly. After purchasing my food and not really enjoying it, I went to read the reviews on the restaurant. Maybe I should have read them first. I wanted to see if anyone else felt like I did about the food, lesson learned. Truly, there isn't a great grandma cooking back in their kitchen. The food was horrible; the people that's on here leaving the nice reviews obviously had their cooking before covid, smh, or maybe you are family members/friends, because what I had today was a NoNo!! I've never seen nor tasted peach cobbler like that; the corn was too sweet, the cobbler could have used some of that sugar.. The mac and cheese taste better from KFC, and the mash potatoes were straight from a box. Can you guys get the soul in your food. Ask grandma to come out of retirement, the restaurant needs her. Hell, I need her. $40 is a lot of money to be throwing away on food that has no soul. I just saying
First visit, ordered takeout. Very well satisfied. Wanted catfish but knew better than to order on First Friday. Saturday was perfect; before dinner hour, take out. Ordered Catfish, Onion Rings, Cole Slaw. Came with fries which I usually give to puppy. He didn't like, for whatever reason (though I don't like much but had to try, tasted fine to me). Onion rings were great, as was Catfish and slaw. I've been in toledo, best Catfish I've had and onion rings in the top 4. We'll be back soon...
I came in for a doordash and I have been waiting for over an hour. People came in after me and got their food before me. There is only one thing on the order.
Wrong items food taste like box food was nasty not worth it want to give -0 wait was 2 hours to for some nasty dry food
Went to this place after working 12 hours this evening and was EXTREMELY dissatisfied. The lady and the front desk was very pleasant but the food was the complete opposite. I ordered the 3 piece wing and 6 piece shrimp dinner for my boyfriend and myself. I picked our food up and took it home and was floored by what I saw when I opened the box. My chicken wings were the size of my 4 month old cousins hand. They were not seasoned and were over cooked. It was 6 wings in the box and that’s what I thought the came with. My macaroni and cheese was all over cooked noodles and hardly any cheese and it was cold. My boyfriend enjoyed his sides but felt the same disdain for the wings. The shrimp were good. That’s it. The peach cobbler is the most vile thing I’ve tasted in a while. It curdled as soon as I put it in my mouth. No sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon or anything. Under cooked and disgusting. I called to let them know what I felt and was told that the meal came with 3 wings and the cook gave me 3 extra to make up for the wings being so small. Not good enough. Was told that they will put my name in a book and I could come in and redeem 2 3 piece wing dinners but I’m so irritated, that I don’t even want the replacements. I would like my $50.57 back. That was not worth my money at all and it goes without saying that I will not be back.
The food was good but it is severely over-,priced
Fantastic service, friendly and food is great!
First, i ordered my food at 4:30pm, my door dasher got to the restaurant at 5:15 for my order, and literally did not leave the restaurant until 6pm! Im very thankful that they were patient enough to wait 45min...so overall it took my order and hour and a half! my porkchops were good as usual. sides were absolutely terrible. Ms Ruby should be ashamed of herself...all these years of being open and a "Soul food" restaurant and still don't have real baked macaroni and cheese. It's spiral noodles with maybe some kraft cheese! my fried corn was very over cooked. the cabbage was nasty, and the yams were decent. It will be a long time before I order again...if I ever even do. I love to support my people but this service was absolutely terrible in timing and taste.
Thanksgiving pickup -- unorganized mayhem, but food was good.
