I was traveling from Detroit to New York tired of Detroit over price Soulful I googled souls Josephines restaurant I told her I had to get my wife to New York for a Travel nurse position I tried four Different meals oxtails catfish fried chicken barbecue ribs everything I mean everything was great even the lemon pound cake the greens were melt in your mouth good for a flavor on point ribs with the tips on top great catfish great fried chicken great I will actually take a trip from Detroit just to purchase food from this cool restaurant Soulfood spot The staff was so friendly so courteous thank you thank you thank you I love great cooking I wish I was a family member so I can come over for Thanksgiving or holidays I will let the world know If you’re passing through Toledo Ohio and craving some good southern cooking please check out Josephines

I definitely did not like the mac and nasty cheese please do not embarrass my culture with claims that this is any soul food type restaurant. I tell you this please do not take this lightly this restaurant is not good the food is basic nasty barbecue from everywhere and they need to see why they're on that little tiny corner with not a lot of business your food is nasty I'm not afraid to tell you it's trifling change operations
The food was excellent. They brought our food to the car. Great service. The Banana Pudding was too dead.

First time here and I must say the food was amazing. I ordered oxtails, Mac n cheese and yams. It was delicious I will definitely be back.
I tried to call at 6:45, mind you they close at 8pm tonight. No one answered the phone so I went up there it was 7:15 by the time the lady asked what I needed it was 7:23 and I asked to place an order and I tried to call and no one picked up she said they are about to close, I replied with “I thought you guys closed at 8pm on sunday” she then said “we stop taking orders at 7:30” I said “it’s 7:23 right now and I tried to call 30 minutes ago. So we didn’t get to place an order and IT WAS 7:23 We normally get food from there atleast once a week and my S/O has been going there for years. Have never had a bad review but today the lady was rude and simply acted like she didn’t want to take my order even if the time was 7:23. We spend our money else where.
I'm from FL where they got a lot of Soul Food so I know Soul Food & this place just didn't hit the spot unfortunately. Wings had no flavor, the mac was dry & the cornbread wasn't moist. Maybe some other menu items were better than what we had, but it was a no for us.
