The food was great. It was fresh and flavorful. Today's special included a potato soup, topped with bacon and cheese. It was highly peppered/seasoned, which my husband enjoyed. The chicken was flavorful and tender. My husband enjoyed an amazing burger and loaded potato. The staff was friendly and attentive. Only marking it down a star because for the price of the restaurant, we anticipated it to be a bit cleaner. The menus were sticky. And while the interior of the restaurant was incredibly dark, along the outer seating it was brighter and the sides of the booths were noticeable. We would go back if we are in the area again as the quality of the food was good.
J Alexander is definitely our go-to spot for the finest prime rib anywhere!Service is always excellent even to the smallest details like removing your straw wrappers from the table.Don't forget to have the amazing carrot cake for desert!
We just spent our 48th wedding anniversary their tonight. Although I could only get some what of a taste of the Mexican cheese dip and salsa it's not their fault. I still can't taste from having covid 5 months ago. We had prime rib and rattle snake pasta. Even though I couldn't taste it my husband said it was as great as it ever has been. So once I can taste again I'll be back. But in the mean time don't miss out on this great restaurant. Great food great service.
Very nice prime rib meal for $35 apiece. Recommend the baked potato over the "smashed" potatoes. My son got the really good small $31 steak with nice mini-fries. The small kid options are off the menu, just ask for the choices from your waiter. We put our name in and waited an hour in the car which was the exact expected time. Took a piece of carrot cake home. Nice place to eat. Recommended.
So the food was amazing!!! I had salmon and there smashed potatoes and a salad with champagne dressing and ranch. Now I will say that I wasn't pleased with the service especially being that it was my first time visiting and the wait after ordering to get drinks and food was long but I guess the taste was definitely worth it.They could do better making sure the experience is better and treating everyone like it's their first time. Make sure people know what's good being that it's supposed to be a fancy like restaurant.
I had the rattlesnake pasta which was quite tasty. There was a mixup with my order but it was taken care of quickly and all was well. The carrot cake was very yummy.
I haven't been to J Alexander's in at least 5 yrs. My first experience was more than satisfying. This time around not so much. Not sure if it's just the all around quality of things since the pandemic or if I just caught them on a bad day, but here we go. I ordered the Steak Maui, and my girl ordered the Rattlesnake Pasta. The cut of my meat for the ribeye was absolutely horrific. I ordered it medium, it was clearly cooked well, or the cut of meat was so bad I couldn't tell. The Pasta was horribly overcooked to the point of being mushy. Our server was not very welcoming, she seemed rushed and preoccupied, definitely didn't sense that she was enjoying the job. Definitely not the restaurant I remember. I know it's not fine dining, but I definitely expected better....
Food was amazing ordered a newyork strip that was cooked to perfection. my girlfriend who is a picky eater was very impressed by the food as well. Everything was delicious including the drinks. Will be returning an would highly recommend.
Great place with excellent service, will come back for sure. Food was excellent could not have asked for a better experience.
Sadly, I can see why businesses are now failing and closing. In these times, I do not understand why a business would turn away paying customers, or any business when businesses are struggling to survive in this economy. Our group of 11 ladies has been excited for our spa weekend coming up and had chosen this restaurant for our "Dress Up Dinner Night". Our coordinator proactively contacted the restaurant to make a reservation for our party and was told that they "don't take reservations for parties larger than 8. Even if we split into 2 tables we have to dine 2 hours apart, as they view a table of 5 or more as a large party and large parties are seated at 2 hour intervals." Now this is absolutely ridiculous! I'm sorry to say that we have now chosen and made reservations at another local restaurant who is more than happy to accommodate us, is appreciating our business and advanced notice. Last November, our same group did a similar outing and dinner. Our dinner and drink bill was around $950.00 not to mention the very generous tips we gave the amazing staff who served us. Unfortunately this restaurant completely turned our business away and did not want to accommodate us even with a months advance notice. Apparently they don't need customers and money to keep the doors open.
