We come here at least once a month. This was a horrible time... Server didnt get half our order.. waited forever for refills. Asked for plastic ware and after thee 3rd time of asking he said sorry i forgot... we have a 3 week old baby, he was crying, so we packed up, me my baby and 2 daughters walked out as dad patiently waited about 25 minutes to get a bill. Very ridiculous.. they werent very busy at all. I told my boyfriend he should had walked out and not even paid!!
I had a very basic online order. When I showed up a few minutes early, I was told to just wait. Finally they acknowledged another person and me were both waiting for awhile, and approached to ask what we were waiting for. I was told they never received my order after looking at the emailed receipt, so I asked how we do a refund since I was still being charged, (quite a bit for what little was ordered and adding on a tip). Then I was told to wait 5 more minutes because they suddenly had the order on their tablet.Anyway, it was all wrong and things had to be remade with taco shells we had at home since they were stale, too.Either don’t go at all, or at the very least, plan on a cash tip if you order online; the tip I left definitely was not deserved.
it's our 22nd wedding anniversary and we came to El Vaquero for dinner, we both ordered number 50, a ribeye dinner with shrimp, we both ordered medium rare, we got our meal and the ribeye was nothing more than sizzle steak with shrimp on a hot plate with rice and refried beans. there was no way that u could get medium rare with that skinny sizzle steak. they should be ashamed to pawn a sizzle steak, and yes I'm not kidding, it really was nothing more than a sizzle steak being pawned off on us as ribeyes on our 22nd wedding anniversay dinner. the guy did take some off of our dinner but still it was supposed to be a celebration, not a sizzzle.
The food is good, I’ll give it that. Eating in we’ve never had issues but take out orders are always messed up. I don’t even order anything different than the menu item and still didn’t receive what I ordered. I ordered brown Mexican rice and got some weird veggie rice I’ve never seen there. Also my guacamole salad was missing so I had lettuce, sour cream and tomato on the side. It literally has it all listed on the receipt. For $16, that meal was not worth it. Margarita was strong but couldn’t taste any of the flavoring I chose. We used to love this place.
Decent food, good service, prices could be better, but it's Mexican food in Toledo so what do you expect.

Messed up our order multiple times. Staff was rude. Asked for my taco to be remade without onions how I ordered it, manager told me it could not be remade because the kitchen was closed, it was 930 & they close at 10. We tried to talk to the manager about the problem, but he would not listen, kept cutting us off & just told us not to pay & we don’t have to come back if we don’t like it. Our group all works in food service & tried being as nice as possible about the situation, but they totally blew us off.
Steak, shrimp, and chicken fajita is delicious, so good the wife said I'm ordering that next time, thank you for the great food.

As good as any pre-covid experience! In this post apocalypse it's nice to still find a good meal.
