Gross. The food had absolutely no flavor! I was very disappointed for the amount of money my sister's an I spent. Only thing good was the Nachos except the salsa was runner no veggie chunks in it Bland! The Queso cheese had no spice. Bland. I was very disappointed as a Chef. There was NOTHING great about this restaurant but the Decor and option to sit outside on the Maumee River and eat.
Came across this restaurant while on a spontaneous long drive to Toledo and I am so glad to have discovered it. The atmosphere, vibe, location and food was just awesome. They have plenty of vegetarian options and a pretty extensive list of beverages. There's loads of seating indoors and outdoors. The patio faces the river, which makes for some amazing views. I am definitely going to be back here again!
Meh. My steak fajita taco salad was very small and only contained probably about 2 ounces of steak. My wife orders three beef tacos and said the meat tasted like Taco Bell. There was a pool of grease on her plate from them. My daughters cheese quesadilla was Luke warm at best. My son ordered a cheese pizza. I know, but he’s a kid. Looked like a frozen one from ALDIs. Mens restroom was covered in….water? A toilet in the womens room was broken. Hostesses were pleasant and service was ok. If you think I’m being picky, read my other reviews. I call em like I see em. I probably won’t be back and will stick to Cocina de Carlos.
Food was okay, nothing special. MARGARITAS were good, 5 of us shared 2 pitchers. They only had 3 waiters/waitresses for the entire restaurant and neither one said they were ours. While it was annoying, we finally spoke up and ordered food after an 45 minutes of waiting. Our waiter was just beyond busy, but kept his cool and was still friendly.The best part was the beautiful view, and great company of some friends. Not in a rush to go back, but I know I will get invited there again.
it's our 22nd wedding anniversary and we came to El Vaquero for dinner, we both ordered number 50, a ribeye dinner with shrimp, we both ordered medium rare, we got our meal and the ribeye was nothing more than sizzle steak with shrimp on a hot plate with rice and refried beans. there was no way that u could get medium rare with that skinny sizzle steak. they should be ashamed to pawn a sizzle steak, and yes I'm not kidding, it really was nothing more than a sizzle steak being pawned off on us as ribeyes on our 22nd wedding anniversay dinner. the guy did take some off of our dinner but still it was supposed to be a celebration, not a sizzzle.
great service last night. Had the Molecajete Ranchero which was excellent.
My husband called Tuesday before Saturday to make a reservation for 10 for my birthday. We had guests arriving from all over and it was a good meeting spot. He was told no problem, call back if you need to add anymore. Great. Arrive for birthday dinner and we are told no reservations are accepted and basically told we were lying about someone there taking them. No accommodations. No offer to help. Nothing. Rude and absolutely unacceptable almost laughing at us as we stand there with 10 guests. So sad what service has become. Zero stars.
If you go here don’t order a taco salad, or the chicken lettuce wraps. Portion sizes for the prices are HORRIBLE… I get it food prices have went up, but you also raised your prices, so your portions should still be the same. Very disappointed tonight!
Great Mexican restaurant! Right on the water so the patio makes for good views. Inside bar is plenty stocked with Everything you can thing of. Extensive collection of Tequilas. Lots of options for vegetarians on the menu as well.
Great food and fast service. They have a large menu so I'll be back to try more. I tried not to fill up on the chips and salsa provided, but it was so good.
