We’ve been coming here for several years, however, recent experiences have proven a disappointment.Last visit: the salad lacked freshness, the Bocce Ball has more filler (likely bread crumbs etc.) than actual meat (not sure if they use beef or pork) and seemed to lack flavor, lastly, the Chicken Rose was terrible, no hint of basil and the red sauce was like tomato sauce, if I didn’t know better, it was like Chef Boyardee out of a can, pasta overcooked and completely bland of flavor.Unfortunately, it will be a long time before we visit again.
WAY TOO MUCH GARLIC !!! We have tried to Trivs many times for their great live music, which is always at a comfortable level, and their fine upscale atmosphere. The venue is beautiful, and the staff try very hard to be accommodating. Other reviewers have complained about the food without being specific. We too, have usually been disappointed with the food, despite returning to try different items on the menu. For us it is very clear that the problem with the otherwise high quality food is - WAY TOO MUCH GARLIC!!! ( Even for me, and I am Italian.). NEARLY EVERYTHING ON THE MENU IS SATURATED WITH HEAVY GARLIC, including appetizers and sides, as well as entrees (even the steaks and fish). Furthermore, the garlic is usually not mentioned at all in the item descriptions on the menu, and is used very heavy handed even in items where you would not expect to find it. We have tried asking for our entrees and sides to be prepared without garlic, or with as little as garlic as possible, but staff often come back and tell us the Garlic is already in the marinade, sauces, etc. At other times they have told us that it could be prepared without garlic, when it arrives it is still saturated with Garlic. If the Heavy Garlic problem were ever resolved, we would become regulars.
You have no HANDICAP restroom. It made our dinning very unpleasurable. We had a party of 8 they were all shocked. We will never return. Isn't it a federal law a federal law??
Here is a tip to whoever came up with the idea of serving redskins mashed potatoes... no one really likes them, they are just settling. Redskins came to vogue when Idaho potatoes were unavailable due to a disease. Now the Idahoes are back. Serve them.. Nobody wants to pay good money for a steak and have crappy mashed potatoes that they have to chew because the skins are still in them. Thats just lazy and cheap. Get some class....
Honestly, I would never go to this place because I thought it was just a bar. This place is a hidden gem that needs more exposure.I had my second visit this past weekend, and they did not disappoint. The vibes are so chilled and intentional. The servers are some of the best I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The food is delicious. They probably make the best old fashions in Cleveland.
The atmosphere was really awesome. Live music, intimate setting. The service was AMAZING. The place was packed and our waitress was still very attentive. The drinks were outstanding, I would come back for the pineapple margarita alone. But on the downside, food was just okay. The Brussels sprouts appetizer was pretty good although they were soggy and for some reason I was imagining they would be crispy. Salad was decent. I got there Trivs pasta which was good but a little too oily and way too expensive for what it was. The pasta itself was $21 and then I was charged an ADDITIONAL $17 for 2 small pieces of overcooked scampi which I could barely even chew. If I wer was told ahead of time that the shrimp would be that expensive I wouldn't have added it. My boyfriend did enjoy his meal though. He got the coffee crusted steak. Overall I would return and try something else but this place would not be my first choice for a special event.
Food is GREAT the alcohol in every drink they make is ALWAYS THE SAME. Front girls are always dressed so well and super professional. Bartenders are knowledgeable and on point. Always clean silverware and glass ware. Perfect intimate setting. I really cannot complain about this business. The owner (RIP) definitely did this business structure wonderfully.
this was our first trip to the strongsville resturant after moving here from fairview park ohio.i had the veal parm and it was delis.my wife had the ribs and just fell off the bone.we had a party of five and the bill was under$ 200.00(not including tip)this included all of our drinks also. we found this to be very reasonable for the service and food quality that we received. We will coming back again and again.the meal was a celebration of a young friends birthday and the waiter brought her a dessert with a candle on it and the management comped it off the bill.
Perfect. The service is excellent. The Turkey Wrap was fresh. The coffee was just right.
Expensive, but excellent. Both food and service were outstanding. We sat in the bar as there was live music. Will definitely be back.
