I grew up in Springfield and one of the saddest things about moving was leaving El Toro. My family ate here almost religiously for years—at least once or twice a week.The food is fantastic. I normally order the burrito fajitas texanas. It’s huge and delicious. I haven’t gotten much here that wasn’t really good. Maybe the tacos can be a little lack luster, but that’s about it.So many of the staff members are wonderful. They have the best salsa and queso around.
Service was great, food was great, HOWEVER, I paid $13.95 for the carnitas, couldn’t finish, got a take-home box. I got to the car and realized I had left box at our table. My daughter went back in to get it and it was gone. I understand a quick turnaround time, but usually the box is set aside in case the patron returns. Less than 5 minutes had passed, no one was helpful or seemed concerned. Very disappointed!

We have been here many times, & always have had a great experience, but not today. My food was very good, but my wife did not get what she ordered. Our waitress didn't write down our order, then came back to question me as to what I'd ordered. She was very slow to check on us. We had to wait a long time to get a to- go box, refills, & then the check. We could see her beside the bar just talking while we waited.
