The food was decent, though the flavors were different than I'm used to - creamier palak paneer (though the cheese in it was divine!), A little too much anise flavor for my taste, veggie pakora with chickpeas that was fried a little darker (but still pretty delicious), chutneys that seemed a little thin, etc.. Maybe this is due to the Nepali influence? It's the first time I've been to a restaurant where Nepali is one of the major heritages, so I could just be a newbie when it comes to these flavors. And the food came out hot, plentiful, and pretty flavorful, so no complaints there, just a little bit of adjustment to expectations needed.Service was not impressive, though. We were the ONLY paying customers in the restaurant, but we were not greeted when we walked in, and it took a while for us to get water and place our orders. Maybe we just didn't know how the process works and should have gone up to the bar? There was only one person filling all the roles of server, hostess, and cashier, but she seemed preoccupied with her phone. She didn't really check on us nor bring us the bill when we were done - we had to go up to ask for it after 10 minutes of waiting.Due to this, we had a lot of waiting time. And ninety minutes for lunch service is really too long. So although it was a decent experience, I'd probably do takeout next time and try the momo, or try one of the plentiful other Indian/Nepali restaurants that are cropping up in this area.
I ordered many food today thinking its good like always. The last time I ordered food was about a month ago or so. So I bought many food like chili momo and they put food color in it and it just takes like peper powder. Jhol momo that takes nothing like jhol momo buy instead water. Aloo paratha tastes like boiled aloo stuffed in roti cuz there is nothing than just aloo. Chicken fried rice doesn't go well with broccoli don't.the chowmein has broccoli too and weird waste like they put too much seasoning along with lots turmeric. The chicken tastes like they boiled chicken and pit it in both fried rice and chowmein. Overall, I recommend everyone who loved this restaurant to not eat here. And looks like they charge more than usual. My whole meal costed more than $50 for just 5 items. I expected to cost around $40.
Everything was amazing!!!! Best prices, food, and customer service. Can’t wait to come back.
Food is delicious. We always order Palek Paneer, medium spice level, and it's always wonderful. Tonight I decided to change it up a bit and ordered Chicken Thukpa. It was amazing. Hopefully more and more people will discover your gem of a restaurant.
Incredible food and flavors. The heat level was perfect and we got an extra order of garlic naan because it was so good. Hoping this place continues to get business cause their food is A+
This is our second visit with Doste Indian Cuisine. I most say the customer service is the best thing about this place. My favorite food is Chicken momo and they have the best in their place. I would give 10/10 for the foods and services they provide. We had New Year family dinner and we celebrate our oldest son’s 4th Birthday as well. The best memories of our lives. Thank you for the great Service!
Ambience is okay considering bar options are available. Food tasted good, service was awesome. Table tennis and carom board games are available.
This was my first time having Indian food and it was AMAZING. I'll definitely be back, 10/10. I honestly didn't think I'd like Indian food but man was I wrong. I'm very happy I tried it, everything I ordered was great and the guy at the front was very nice, definitely recommend
Nice food and very nice service by Prem. Location of this place is very good. The Chicken momos are best. Nice place for weekend brunch/lunch. It is a family place. It was our first time we only tried appetizers next time we are planning to try the main course. Looks like they are running short with staff. Prem was a good person he showed the best hospitality service, he was by himself though he kept running back and forth for getting us food with a smile on his face.
This is my second time at Doste. Our server was Chhabi. We ordered an order of Garlic Naan bread. My wife and son had an appetizer of Paneer Pokoda (batter-fried yogurt cheese, photo 1). My wife opined that while delicious, they were just a touch dry so the sauce was needed. (Doste brings you mint and tamarind dipping sauces). As to entrees, she had the Aloo Matar (a pea/potato dish in a creamy tomato sauce, photo 4), my son the Palak Paneer (creamy spinach dish with yogurt cheese cubes, photo 5. I forgot to get a closeup until he started eating so photo 2 shows the amount you can expect to get) and I had the chicken vindaloo (marinated chicken chunks and potato in tomato sauce with spices, photo 3).Having been there twice, I will offer two small tips regarding ordering: On both visits, they didn't take beverage orders separately so make sure to ask for those with your meal order. If you're having soda there ARE free refills. (The menu doesn't call that out.)Spice levels tend to be on the mild side. I enjoy SOME spice but I don't typically order "hot" Indian/Nepalese cuisine. At Doste I do and it's right on the money for a good level of spice. If you're someone whose goal is forehead sweat you might want to ask for "extra hot" to have it where you want. For those who can't dine in or just want to eat at home, they do delivery via GrubHub and it appears they also have a brisk takeout business. (Heard them take several phone orders while we were dining)In short, delicious food at a moderate price (that average of $20 a person includes the naan bread and 2 orders of paneer pakoda).
