Pretry good, but it used to be better.I think they changed the recipe of sesame chicken and general tsos. Sushi used to be better - very plain and no sauce like california rolls have on them. Egg rolls pretty good, fried rice is good, coconut shrimp is good, dumplings are good, mushrooms good. I would give the place 4.5 stars if that was an option. Still one of the best chinese places around though - havent found a better place on the east side yet.
This place used to be great but not so much now. New owners are the worst. Food tastes different, not well seasoned. Restaurant appears unkept and somewhat dirty. And the guy at the check out its plain rude. Pricing of take out buffet is purposely confusing and we have been overcharged more than once. Today was our last visit as we found hair in our food!!!! This place is disgusting!!! They had a red health dept. sign on their door for not passing health inspection last month...which I did not find out until after this visit. Stay far away from this place of you value your health.
Outstanding buffet with good food choices and always fresh. We were in the area and wanted a Chinese Buffet, Asian Star was a perfect choice. This place keeps high quality food well stocked and hot. The Mongolian BBQ cooking area was great too. This is really a good place to eat. We loved it and will be back!
Edit:Thank you for your reply. However you writing what other customers think about your food and the waitress’ service is irrelevant to me. I know what I tasted and I know how we were treated.Regarding the plates, they were not piled with food. Even if we did not like the food we are not wasteful or disrespectful people. We did not pile our plates with food at the buffet to begin with. We ate 85%-95% of everything that was on our plates. As if that was not enough for your waitress to notice, the plates (3-4) were also placed in a neat stack on the table. If your staff isn’t aware that a stacked pile of plates is meant to be taken off the table maybe she should consider other work. Also once again our drinks were completely empty and not once did she offer to refill. And yes again the spring rolls (frozen and not freshly made) and teriyaki chicken which was once the best thing there, are now disgusting.Thank you for your reply though.Original review 2/20/22I’ve been coming here for 20 years. I’ve always loved the food, the owners, and the service. However I’ve just learned they are under new owners. We went tonight 02/20/22. They new owners have changed all the food recipes. Substituting a lot of the once great food for frozen substitutes. I could not eat half of the food I once loved because it’s simply disgusting. The service is terrible now. The entire time we were there plates we were done with created a pile on the table. Drinks were not refilled once. The plates were not removed and there was no offer for refills until I asked for the check, then the server suddenly was very attentive hoping for a large tip. ?They raised the prices and the food is not worth the price increase at all. Very disappointed considering my family and I have loved this restaurant for decades. The new owners need to sell back to the previous owners and fix what they messed up.I would give negative stars if I could. Disgusting and disappointing.
Yuki was a wonderful, considerate waitress. The buffet was continually restocked with fresh food. Dirty dishes were continually removed from the table immediately.
Good Chinese food here, pretty much variety of chicken and vegetables. I like the interior it is also very spacious in the seating area. The dessert have more options with variety of cakes. I liked the freshly cut melons. My comfort food here is fried rice with chicken and broccoli/ mushroom with zucchini. We went at dinner time the food was warm enough. During this Covid time when places are running short of staff this was well equipped with staff. Everyone was so polite and nice. Our server Yoki was very sweet. She spoke very well English and understood well. This Asian buffet is located near to my place, we are for sure gonna come to eat often. Thank you.
Absolutely fantastic. Always great food. Been going here for 3 years and have never been disappointed
The food overall is good but don't expect good service. I found hair in my food. They gave me and the people I am with 20% off. My other complaint is that they don't take criticism well at all. I accidentally forgot to get a mask and she wanted me to go get one. I was okay until I saw a whole bunch of others with no mask. That's why I say they don't take Criticism well. So if you have a no B.S tolerance then I wouldn't recommend it.
New owners are amazing ? there's always some form of greeting. In my opinion the food has greatly improved hats off to every last one to Cooks. Very appreciative of the owners in the staff.
The only reason why I am giving this a one star review is because I can’t give them a zero. We walked in and we’re ignored for about five minutes. Then we sat. Went up to the Buffay after the lady took five minutes to figure out what we wanted to drink because she couldn’t understand and got a plate of food. All the food was cold nothing tasted or looked as expected. And we have been to a lot of Asian buffets before. We came here on Christmas expecting a decent experience and walked out almost sickened by how cold the food was the lack of cleanliness. Nothing was filled. The sushi was all torn apart and just left there. Ice cream was taken out of the cooler and left on the counter is by hot food. It looked like they had brought individual plates from home for dessert and just left the plastic wrap on there. I would never recommend this to anybody. If you do come here to eat, make sure you’re ready for a long night running back-and-forth to the restroom
