I've been a Massey's customer for over 40 years. Since moving out of state about 12 years ago, we have ordered it shipped, snuck it in our suitcases on airplanes, driven across the country with pizza packed in ice dozens of times and bragged on the best pizza on earth. We were back in OH for a few weeks and ordered a pizza via an online delivery service. Weird...maybe a couple of teaspoons of cornmeal under the crust and the crust was quite overdone. But we love the sauce and the curly pepperoni and chalked it up to the delivery service. They must have shaken the box a little too much and they probably have cornmeal all over their car. A week or so later, we ordered again and this time my husband picked it up from the Sawmill/Powell Road location. Same, scenario. For the first time EVER, Massey's leftovers got THROWN AWAY I messaged Massey's on Facebook and they replied asking which location. I answered them. (by the way I have not heard anything from them since they asked what location and I told them about the third problem as well--crickets).I was heading back home and called to get a pizza to sneak into my suitcase. I told the person that answered the phone that I wanted extra cornmeal and not to cut it as I was going to freeze it taking it in my suitcase overseas. I told him several times...extra cornmeal like Massey's Pizza. Lots of cornmeal. (That is what keeps the pizza from sticking and burning and makes the crust extra crunchy.) Picked it up. Barely any cornmeal and burned. This time we returned to the store and asked for a refund. I gave you three tries. Bye, bye Masseys. My second favorite pizza has moved up to number 1. Next time we're in town we're headed right to Tommy's. (Photos...one shows me holding up the burned pizza with a minuscule amount of corn meal and one shows what Massy's pizza crust used to look like).
Place is full of flippant teenagers. Probably because the owner is too cheap to pay a living wage to get adults in there. Order wasn't even in the oven when I arrived and I just stood there for 5 minutes(they weren't busy) before having to ask what had happened. Watched one of the teens eat their dinner DIRECTLY OVER TOP THE MAKE line. Really disgusting. Suggest eating elsewhere.
I ordered a pizza on a weekday night and had an estimated 30 min wait. Got there 30 min later, and was told to give them 6 min (looks like they hadn't started my order) 15 minutes later, I recheck on the status, and they seem confused and I was told to give them another few min. In total I waited another 30 min just to pick up one pizza I ordered an hour ago. During this time, no one came in after me and no phone calls, so it was baffling as to why I was still waiting. No communication on why, either. Pizza was not bad, though, I just wish they communicated with me whatever issue there was.
This was our first time trying Massys. We are new to the area and looking for good pizza. Masseys hit the spot. It was outstanding. They provide ample toppings and it was simply outstanding. At least this was our experience. We will be coming here many many times moving forward. YUM!!
Incredible delivery perfectly on time .. the best pizza and salads!! Our favorite!
This is the BEST Massey’s. The staff are terrific. They were having an issue with online ordering, and did everything they could to make sure I received my pizza quickly. The pizza was fantastic!!
Usually buy Donatos, but gave Massey's a try. It is a further drive and costs a little more then Donatos but it was better. Lots more pepperoni and sauce. I actually had sauce oozing out from under the cheese.
Google suggested that this was similar to Brooklyn Pizza or Mikey's Late Night Slice. I can not emphasize how much it is not like either of these places. It is weird Ohio pizza without much mozz, if any, and cut into rectangles. The pictures on the website made it look like it was cut like a normal pizza. Why is this a thing? Overall it was just disappointing.
It was a busy evening for them. We requested delivery. We ordered the “BLT pizza” and added onion to half of it. Jackson and Cole handled our order (in addition to the kitchen folks, who we didn’t get to speak to - thanks!). Pizza was delivered right at an hour, and it was good. Great job everyone at the Powell Massey’s! Especially Cole and Jackson! Thank you.
Best gluten free pizza I’ve had this far in the city and spouse enjoyed the deep dish crust because between Chicago style and thick crusts from other pizza companies. Best of both worlds with our family dietary restrictions. Delicious!
