Restaurant was great but our service was terrible. Our waitress was standing in the doorway of the kitchen on her phone and then walking around with it. We received food items we didn't order and she told us to keep them (2 meals and one side). I saw another person go to a different waitress and ask where their waitress was ( it was ours too) she took drink orders and never went back. I realize restaurants are struggling right now but they weren't busy at the time we were there.
Waited an hour for food. Waitress never checked on us the whole time. Left….
I have always loved Cracker Barrel, even since I was a kid. I even happily worked there for several years and in two different states. But since founder Sam Evans passed away they have been declining and this visit was better than some but still not up to the quality Cracker Barrel standards. I will start with the positive. First our server was very nice and she kept my tea filled. My husband's coffee was kept filled and warm as well. The biscuits were like delicious pillows. It's been a while since I have had them that good. I liked that even after sitting on the table for awhile the gravy and grits didn't turn thick like paste. Okay now for the not so good parts. When we first walked in even though they were not busy nor was the dining room full by any means but the hostess seemed to be moving in slow motion. We asked for a kids menu and were given 2 but no crayons. Instead of seating making sure we had space were seated right next to another table which is fine if your busy not when you are half empty. My bacon came out visibly burnt. The hash brown casserole which is one of my favorites was mushy and had no texture. The dining room was very cold especially for a rainy spring morning. The divider wall next to use didn't look like it had been wiped down in quite awhile as seen in the photo included. I did not once see a manager enter the dining room.
Great lunch...after waiting for almost an hour for our table and another hour to get our food. We also had to switch waitress because our waiters that was assigned our table did NOT do her job. She kept walking by our table not checking to see if we needed refills or anything while waiting for food. She paid us NO MIND! But she made sure the table right behind us was taken care of. Our new waitress we got was AMAZING! Nicole was her name and she deserves another star added to her apron. She was great!!!

Today being Easter they were extremely busy. We only had a 15 wait to be seated. Drink orders taken within minutes. Our waitress was very fatigued, no doubt. She still managed to be patient & polite to my family of five. (Who change their minds, when ordering) BONUS, Everything came for all of us at the time. (Not one or two people get their food leaving others at the table waiting for theirs.) Our food was delicious. Thank you for a great dining experience.
Absolutely terrible all around bland potatoes chicken fried stale bland. Corn bread Burt!! This was Tuesday 15th around 1:30 pm. Never going back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Huge disappointment today. Have been a customer of CB for many years and have never had this bad of an experience. My husband ordered chicken and dumplings and I ordered Grandma's Breakfast. By the time they told my husband that they were out of dumplings, I'm pretty sure that my food had already been cooked, though I didn't get it until he got his. The scrambled eggs were not only scorched, but were barely warm. There was nothing honey about the honey ham, it was salty and half the slice was dried out. The grilled potato casserole was fried so crisply on one side that it was as crunchy as Fritos. We paid $27dollars for 2 breakfasts and I didn't bother finishing mine. Very disappointed that you now serve booze at a family restaurant.
The food quality was good. The fried chicken was moist and fresh. The sides were all great. If it wasn't for the food this would be a 3 star review. The problem was with the service. They brought our side salads with dinner. Our dinner lost temperature because we were eating salads that should have been brought out way before. She never came back for refills, sat that 10 minutes with nothing to drink. The store is always fun to browse. They even have squishmellows. If the service was more reliable I would come back more often. This is not the first time I have had service issues.
Enjoy CB food. Never disappointed. Wonderful mama's french toast breakfast, or Sunday honestyle chicken meal, both are my favorite!! Yum! French toast is the absolute best here. And the chicken...oh Wow! So tender and juicy! Service is also very attentive, quick on their feet and never have to wait long for our food. Going to a CB without shopping in their general store is such a hard task with all of their beautiful decorations for each season, not to mention all the ever so cute little baby outfits!!
