Atmosphere, service and quality. Those three points are what makes this place. The food was very good and the charm and prices where not really inflated. I'll make sure to go back as a regular and tell all my friends. Thanks for the great first experience.
Some of the best smoked chicken I've ever had. The Alabama white sauce was so delicious. I had never had cornbread with jalapeños inside. It will not be the last. The sides were just incredible. Drinks were really good and the staff was very friendly. If I could rate it 10 ? I would. I will most definitely be back next time I'm in Newark.
Awesome restaurant downtown Newark. The pulled pork has really good, fresh, pork flavor with a hint of smoke. BBQ sauce is wonderful too, not overly vinegary. Baked beans are fabulous with a homemade taste. Love the atmosphere and the various works of art and the ceiling sculptures. Staff was friendly and helpful.5⭐

We were here for a quick bite and business meeting. Unfortunately, they were out of ribs but all the food we ordered were delicious! We got pulled pork sandwich, wings, and fried catfish sandwich along with their mac and cheese, Cole slaw, and beans. Honestly, there wasn't anything we didn't like! Price was decent and expected for a BBQ joint. Portions were good.Customer service was superb! We were helped by Crissy and our table had a wonderful conversation with her about the area which we were very thankful for bc we are new here. She cleaned up after us and let us enjoy our time there.Bathrooms were clean and to the side so no awkward walk throughs around the restaurant and around employees.The decor was absolutely amazing and gorgeous! The work that went into the tables and the ceiling is astounding. Respect to the people who did them! The pictures simply do not do them justice.We were impressed, for sure. We will be back and forth to the area so we know we will be back again for the experience.
Never had a bad meal! Fries are seasoned with the best seasoning! The Shrimp Po Boy is awesome. All of their meats are great, including wings. The fried green tomato side is yummy. The banana pudding makes you want to happy dance- my 18 month old sure did!
This is one of my favorite BBQ places. The food is consistently good and they have some great daily specials. Their brunch on Sunday is also fantastic.
Moe's Original BBQ is the place to go for Alabama style bbq! The restaurant is casual; you order at the counter. They have a classic menu of pulled pork, chicken, wings, and sides like vinegar slaw, fries, etc. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with fries and slaw. The sandwich came with a sweet BBQ and a pickle. Everything was delicious! The restaurant also has some great metal art (trees and chandeliers).
Easily our new favorite restaurant! Everything was amazing. We all got extra sides thinking portions would be small and ended up with way too much food to take home and enjoy! The 1/2 chicken is literally 1/2 a chicken! The staff were all super nice- you can tell they take pride in the food they make! I wasn't sure if I would like a sauce and her response was, "trust me you will" and I loved it! We loved every item we tried. They even gave our 2 year old a free desert to try and used ASL to talk with her. Can't wait to eat there again and bring friends!
