I asked cashier about the turkey tacos she said they were good , I told her I preferred The brisket tacos she said I could still get them . Well got home and I had turkey tacos ..very disappointed. she didn't care either way if I was there ..her personal appearance you could tell . But the fries were good tacos ok I believe I was over charged too . Brisket cost more. No wonder she asked if I wanted my receipt. I said no. I trusted her. I go there often too. too bad

Very rude cashier. Was very short with everything we had questions for. This was our first time, and surely our last time.way over priced for 3 sandwiches. And to bat the food sucked. Dry brisket, bland ribs. Never again will we ever eat here or recommend this awful establishment. Should've went across the street to Texas Roadhouse.

When my daughter and wife walked into this location it looked like everyone’s dog had just died! Very depressing welcome. The cashier was exactly like these other reviews , Deadpan at best when asked if we would be dinning in or take out we said dine in and she actual Scoffed as of saying ughh alright !!! It was very unwelcoming. On top of all that the tables were all filthy ! The macaroni was cold!!! The fries were old! The ribs were ok I guess . Only thing they have going for them was the Nashville hot sandwich that was the only good experience I would never go to this place again !!! Horrible service

The food here is great and the service is quick. If it wasn't so darn expensive I'd have to give them 5 stars. $18.50 is pretty high rent for lunch in my book.

We got the family pack which was $25 and if you add brisket which we did is 10 more dollars don't get me wrong it was good it's just before you didn't have to pay extra for the brisket so it's getting more expensive like everything else

Had a fundraiser that night, food was not as good as I had hoped. Ordered a full rack of ribs, dry. Nashville hot chicken sandwich was good though

Cashier was deadpan at best. The food at this local was barely warm, not sure why it was that way. Taste was mediocre, they had changed up the cole slaw to creamy from the vinegar type.I'm not planning on returning to this location again.

Regarding Newark store. First time ever, the Brisket was dry. The young woman working the counter was sullen and rude. Don't know her name because I did not receive a receipt. Her hair half blonde, half brown.Really did not see any happy looking employees.Worst experience at City Barbecue.

I want to start by saying we have never had a bad walk-in meal at City but over the last 2 years or so Large Take Out orders have been increasingly unsatisfactory. For a Mother's Day lunch (2022) I ordered a 14-16 Party pack with Pulled Pork and Brisket, Corn Pudding and Mac & Cheese. I also got extra Turkey, Cornbread, Potato Salad & Hushpuppies. All told order was about $200. Mac & Cheese was very good and the Potato Salad and Corn Pudding were OK. Pulled pork was dry and cold and the Brisket was half Fat and not really edible. They forgot the Turkey and crushed the Cornbread because they put it under everything else. 12 of the 18 buns were in a package and were fine but 6 were wrapped in plastic and hard as rock. One of the three orders of hushpuppies were really good but the other two orders where all dry and broken (not sure how that could happen). I called about the Turkey and Cornbread and was instantly given an account credit as I could not return to the store. While this was nice I would have preferred the order be filled than to get a credit for something I didn't get. In about the last year or so I have ordered pretty big Party Pack orders, from different Locations, 4 times and each time is worse than the time before. I realize the challenges restaurants have experienced over the last couple of years but until things improve I don't think I will be ordering out from City Barbeque, hopefully I can use the credit when I dine in.

Always fast to fill pickup orders and fantastic food. Prices are going up significantly, but that's par for the course in the current economy. Definitely recommend.
