We decided to go inside instead of the drive through. This place has changed. You place your order at a kiosk. Pick a seat. Wait for your order number to be called. Get your food near the condiments and beverage area. No interaction what so over. My son and I both agreed it doesn't feel the same.Other than that, the milkshakes and food were wonderful as always.
I've had great experiences with steak and shake and have loved their food and service. Recently, however, it seems their establishment has gone downhill. Their indoor serving method is terrible, there is hair in the food, uncooked meat, and cold. Along with this, they informed us they no longer serve chicken and mini corndogs because of bird flu. Absolutely disgusting thing to hear from the place you're about to eat at!! Found a hair in my shake, food was cold, and had an overall bad experience. Won't be eating here ever again and I advise others to not either.
They no longer have servers. I don't know how long it's been like that, but it sucks. Sure, might cause your bill to be less, which is nice, but it has lost its traditional "restaurant" experience. Then again, it is Steak & Shake. Anyway, I ordered a large cheese fry, and it barely felt "large" and the cheese on top was laughable. Also, they didn't have an option for chili cheese fries? Why not? Lastly, I ordered a drink so I went to get tea and they were completely out, both sweet & unsweet. Only went there because the girlfriend had a craving. I could only imagine going there if I was hammered
What I got was good but they have a limited menu and of course they didn't have what I wanted.
They have great shakes. Regular and specialty milkshakes. Monday thru Friday from 2-4pm their shakes are half off. Great deal. To be honest I have only eaten their food 3 or 4 times. Its good but my family and I really just go for shakes.
It would have nice to have a waiter or waitress, I don't really care for doing you order on a computer and then waiting on someone to call your number, to get your food and then wait 20 more minutes for a milk shake. It would have been a 4 or 5 if it wasn't for that. I liked it better before with waiters and waitess's.
Hate to say it, but the best service that I ever received here is since they went to the self serve order, pay and pick up. It was easy to pay, even with cash, order and the food was really good and a lot faster then they ever had before. I actually enjoyed it
Dined inside today. Music was so unbelievably loud that it was ridiculous and the selection was 80's hard rock. All that was missing was strobe lights and it would have been a Hair Nation party! I asked the teenager working out in the dining room who wore glasses if the music could be any louder. He responded "Do you want the music louder?". I asked once again "Could the music be any louder? It needs turned down!" I also said "If there were elderly inside that restaurant they would have had a heart attack!". He again responded "Do you want me to turn it up?". He was so rude and sarcastic that I will never be back. It was obvious that while the cats away the mice will play.
Not sure if I liked the new service model but I understood it. Went there to get table service but was welcome by a kiosk. Order had mistakes. Had to ask for help at the counter and was barely noticed. Not sure if I will return for dine-in.
I like the COVID changes of ordering ourselves at the kiosk and getting our own drinks. It was clean and the food was good. All in all a great experience.
