Four members of my family decided to stop for lunch at which time they were seated directly across from a white family of four, everything is fine until out of no where the youngest member of the white family says "Look mommy there black, what are they doin here" The mother of the child acted like she didnt hear anything her son said she didnt correct his behavior at all...Then came the stairing at my family like they didnt belong there... Being the civilized people we let it slide and even though my family arrived before them....They received there food 1st... And suddenly the young kid said it again loud and clear, "Look mommy there black, what are they doin here" That's when it happened !!!! As people we can be civil or we can give you the exact energy your givin out a 1000 X's more. Lets just say a lesson was taught and learned inside the restaurant on how to talk with respect in a public place. And to make matters worse the lady who's the restaurant manager who is Africa American took the side of the racist folk who received the lesson in public. Bottom line, Don't go to Max & Erma's in Lancaster, Ohio. By the way the food was cold !!!
I'd never been to any Max & Erma's, and really just wanted a small meal. The tater tots were perfect (and not too salty, like they often are!) I loved the French Onion Soup, but I'm also a fan of cheese. The service was quick and friendly too.
It's easy to get stuck with one menu item and order the same thing every time here. For me, that's the Garbage Burger. Has everything but the kitchen sink! Best served with a side of warm chocolate chip cookies. I've stopped here every time on my way through Lancaster.
The waiter was friendly and efficient. The food was fine. Went out with friends so I paid more attention to our conversations than our food and service. We will go back.
Food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. Good size portions and reasonable prices. Would definitely go there again.
Our waitress was friendly, professional and attentive. The food was well prepared. Our party of 6 adults was satisfied with what was ordered.
Service was not good at all. My husband has to get our drinks at the iced tea dispenser after 15 minutes of waiting. Server kept walking past us saying just give me a second or minute I'll be right with you but didn't. Hubby got our drinks , sister in law wrote our orders down on a piece of paper for when he finally did " stop" at our table. Asked for mayonnaise because they were out of tartar sauce for the fish, my husband was finished with the fish by the time any Mayo got to the table, and that was after asking for it 3 times. Never got us refills, my husband did that. When it came to paying the bill we had to ask another girl to take it up because he kept walking past us again saying just give me a second. Part way through he did stop and tell my husband that he got talked to for my husband getting our drinks, and towards the end he told us not to ask anyone but him for anything because he was getting in trouble for it. Several of the other servers and hostesses we're apologizing to us. That was probably the only time we've had service that bad there, otherwise food is delicious and " normally" service is great.
Our family met here for Mother's Day. Our server Kevin was awesome. I have no complaints about him. Our food experience was awful. 4 of us had blonde hair in our food. One of the hamburgers had 3 hairs in it. Itself. The manager Kyla Smith came out from cooking. She stated she kept the hamburger to the side and didn't see any hair. At this point she was basically saying we were all liars and there wasn't hair in our food. Other tables had the same issue while we were there. Just beware if you go eat there.
Ordered takeout, what a disappointment.......onion rings had no breading on them it had all fallen off into mush and very greasy could not even eat them. The fish and chips meal fries were soggy and breading on fish soggy as well. Used my gift card and sad that it was used on food we couldn't even eat. Seems the quality of food has gotten poor like people just don't care anymore.
The french onion soup was delicious. The burgers we both got were good the fries had the perfect seasoning and crispiness. Our bartender was attentive. She managed to keep everything going even though she had the entire bar area.
