Excellent choice fir a nice dinner out. Side salads were very fresh and dressing seemed homemade. Fish and chips was excellent, substituted roasted potatoes and the salad for slaw and fries. We ordered the crab cakes as a meal. Service was good and atmosphere nice as well. Food was hot and served quickly.

The Downtown Bistro has been totally remodeled and awesome new management. They just reopened on October 15, 2020 and I've been there several times already. Gorgeous, classy interior, top top top customer service, oh yes, we love the menu top to bottom. Many daily SPECIALS and the best HAPPY HOUR I know of. Great steaks, the best Fish n Chips, Salmon, Walleye, Scampi, Buttermilk Chicken Fingers, Shrimp and Scampi Linquine, Cranberry Chicken Salads and other Vegetarian treats. Skilled Kitchen Staff and experienced Bar staff. Very reasonable prices with large delicious servings by courteous staff. My favorite.....FIVE STARS!!!!

This restaurant has moved into what was known as the Lancaster Hotel downtown. The food is excellent, good service and moderately priced. There is parking available in the parking lot next door.

Main Street Bistro is a breath of fresh air from the epidemic of fast food restaurants that have recently been taking over our small city. They have a custom menu of delicious dishes prepared by a talented chef located in a beautiful historical building downtown. Private parking is easily accessed right beside the building. I especially enjoy it that they often change the menu to add new treats. You can dress casually while still enjoying a classic restaurant atmosphere, and prices are very reasonable. My husband and I especially love to have a relaxing lunch or dinner on their outdoor patio beside a quiet, tree-filled city park. Warning - their Long Island Ice Tea is dangerously good!

I met my friend at this restaurant yesterday as it's one of her favorites. I had not been there since it had been changed from the old Shaw's restaurant. The inside was nice and wide open (whereas I always felt like the seating was crowded at the other place) and a nice decor. The bar area had been completely changed to a different part of the restaurant and what a difference that made~the old bar was very dark and small and the new one is light and bright with lots of windows you can look out and see the people walking by. We were there for a late lunch/ early dinner so it wasn't too crowded but that made for easier conversation for us. I ordered the onion rings for an appetizer and they were deicious~very light breading and not the heavy type of onion rings that you get at so many other places. My friend had one of the soups of the day and she said it was good. I ordered the pecan chicken salad which originally came with a vinegerette dressing but I substituted blue cheese dressing and the waiter suggested blue cheese crumbles and it was very good! She had the mediterranean salad which she had before and really liked it. We each had a drink and they were well made. Our waiter,Chris, was very attentive and pleasant to talk with. I definitely plan on going back another time I'm in town.

Party of 7. Made reservations. Table was set and ready for us. From being greeted at the door to being seated and introduced to our waitress everyone was very attentive and welcoming. Started with appetizers. The shrimp cheese dip with pita bread was AMAZING! The pretzel breadsticks were gone in a minute. Recommend both. Ribs, pork chops and salmon were delicious! We will be back! Wonderful place for a gathering. Thank you Downtown Bistro!
